That\u2019s one of the reasons we initiated these strike forces to go into communities and work with them to determine what they need. To take a localized, specific approach that works with elected officials in communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.4100418410042\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">PSAKI: &#8220;Our work doesn&#8217;t stop there and we are going to continue to press to get 12-18-year olds vaccinated\u2026 that&#8217;s one of the reasons why we initiated these strike forces&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Hu625lXc5t\">pic.twitter.com\/Hu625lXc5t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Benny (@bennyjohnson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1412473641577689091?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 6, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf the number of cases continues to trend upward, are there any circumstances under which the White House would reimpose some of those restrictions, as cases tick up, or would that be up to the States?\u201d a reporter later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/psaki-biden-supports-any-measures-that-communities-want-to-implement-to-combat-pandemic\">asked<\/a> Psaki.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, states are going to have to make evaluations and local communities are going to have to make evaluations about what\u2019s in their interests,\u201d Psaki responded. \u201cAnd as you know, there are much higher rates of vaccinations in some parts of the country over others and we certainly support their decisions to implement any measures that they think will help their [keep] community safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psaki later added that even though the Biden administration failed to meet its vaccination goals, that the administration does not anticipate \u201cimplementing new additional national measures\u201d at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>The remarks from Psaki come after President Joe Biden said over the weekend that the pandemic no longer controlled American\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo today, while the virus hasn\u2019t been vanquished, we know this, it no longer controls our lives, it no longer paralyzes our nation and it\u2019s within our power to make sure it never does again,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rev.com\/blog\/transcripts\/joe-biden-july-4-2021-independence-day-speech-transcript\">said<\/a> on Sunday. \u201cAnd for that, we can thank the scientists and researchers, the educators, and all the other frontline essential workers, like many of you here today.
