While the economy has added more than 3 million jobs since January, the number of job vacancies remain at an all-time high, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/jolts.htm%5C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Labor Department.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith a record high number of job openings, a record-high number of workers quitting their jobs, and a record-low number of workers being laid off, there\u2019s zero reason to spend even a dime on so-called \u2018job-creation packages,\u2019\u201d \u202fRachel Greszler, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, said in a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/press\/heritage-experts-jobs-gains-prove-there-zero-reason-spend-so-called-job-creation-packages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead, policymakers should refuse to indebt young and future generations and relieve them of the costs of unnecessary unemployment benefit bonuses by ending those programs immediately,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Greszler noted that the federal unemployment program is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/10\/unemployment-fraud-covid-pandemic-half-stolen-criminals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rife with fraud and abuse<\/a>. (Brendan Smialowski\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Following the report, Biden and Labor Secretary Marty Walsh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dol.gov\/newsroom\/releases\/osec\/osec20210702\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">celebrated<\/a> the positive economic growth, but again pushed the administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/01\/business-groups-joe-biden-dangerous-misguided-infrastructure-package\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$2 trillion jobs plan<\/a>. Biden said it was time for the U.S. to \u201caccelerate the progress we\u2019ve been making\u201d during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2021\/07\/02\/remarks-by-president-biden-on-the-june-jobs-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">remarks<\/a> Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The White House has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/28\/biden-budget-request-jobs-families-plan-spending-deficit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">proposed<\/a> new spending packages worth roughly $6 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden is pushing a tax and spend plan under the guise of a jobs plan,\u201d Job Creators Network President and CEO Alfredo Ortiz said in a statement following Biden\u2019s speech. \u201cWe don\u2019t need a jobs plan. We have more jobs available than people to fill them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need policies that don\u2019t put small businesses in competition with the government for labor,\u201d Ortiz added.<\/p>\n<p>Chamber of Commerce CEO Suzanne Clark characterized employers\u2019 inability to find qualified workers as the biggest issue facing the economy right now in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/07\/01\/chamber-of-commerce-ceo-employers-cant-find-workers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interview<\/a> with CNBC Friday. Clark blamed the labor shortage on continued generous unemployment bonuses.<\/p>\n<p>Heritage Foundation Research Fellow Joel Griffith <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/press\/heritage-experts-jobs-gains-prove-there-zero-reason-spend-so-called-job-creation-packages\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pointed out<\/a> that economic growth has been focused in states that have withdrawn from the federal unemployment program that gives $300 weekly to unemployed Americans and won\u2019t expire until September. Twenty-five mostly Republican states announced they would discontinue the program after a meager April jobs report and increasing shortages of workers, Fox Business <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/economy\/states-ending-boosted-unemployment-benefits-hiring-concerns#:~:text=Alabama%2C%20Alaska%2C%20Arizona%2C%20Arkansas,%24300%20in%20benefits%20sometime%20over\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to data from the Federal Reserve, all seven of the best-performing states in overall economic conditions since the pandemic began have already opted out of the federal unemployment bonuses, while the seven worst-performing states continue to provide those bonuses,\u201d Griffith said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose top-performing states have actually grown more than 1% from their pre-pandemic levels, while the seven worst-performing states have experienced declines of more than 6%,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe right policy solutions are obvious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
