The set features LEGO monochrome minifigures assembled on a LEGO flag.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lego.com\/en-us\/page\/why-i-designed-everyone-is-awesome\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According<\/a> to the set&#8217;s designer, none of the figures in the set is explicitly gendered except for a purple-clad drag queen figurine. The set is the first produced by the corporation explicitly promoting the LGBT movement, although the LEGO Trafalgar Square set <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2021\/may\/20\/everyone-is-awesome-lego-launch-first-lgbtq-set\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">included<\/a> a Pride flag, and LEGO has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lego.com\/en-us\/product\/wedding-bride-40383?ef_id=CjwKCAjwz_WGBhA1EiwAUAxIcRFvEfOkfMxh3hciOl827VLv72EUlIE1NbATNOuCZq7Bk2C5-wgQDBoC7aMQAvD_BwE:G:s&amp;s_kwcid=AL!790!3!308873781999!b!!g!!&amp;Buffer&amp;cmp=KAC-INI-GOOGUS-GO-US-EN-RE-PS-BUY-CREATE-DSA-SHOP-XX-DSA-RN-XX&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjwz_WGBhA1EiwAUAxIcRFvEfOkfMxh3hciOl827VLv72EUlIE1NbATNOuCZq7Bk2C5-wgQDBoC7aMQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sold<\/a> bride and groom &#8220;BrickHeadz&#8221; figures&nbsp;separately&nbsp;to avoid heteronormativity, according to <em>The Guardian<\/em>.&nbsp;Mary Rice Hasson, a scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, told the <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em>&nbsp;that the shift toward promoting liberal social values to children is the result of decades of campaigning by special interests.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was [activists&#8217;] strategic move towards institutional capture by appointing themselves as social justice arbiters, setting an ideological bar for \u2018equality&#8217; in the workplace,&#8221; Hasson said.<\/p>\n<p>LEGO did not return a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Although the &#8220;Everything is Awesome&#8221; set promotes progressive pride, the company has faced blowback from activists for recommending the set for people 18 and older. One activist&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gaymingmag.com\/2021\/05\/lego-gay-everyone-is-awesome-pride-set\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criticized<\/a>&nbsp;LEGO for suggesting the product was unsuitable for children.&nbsp;The company has made an effort to support the LGBT movement&#8217;s youth activities in other ways. It has publicly&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lego.com\/en-us\/aboutus\/news\/2021\/may\/everyone-is-awesome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">partnered<\/a>&nbsp;with Diversity Role Models, a United Kingdom-based charity that purports to &#8220;create safe spaces where young people can explore difference and consider their role in creating a world where we all feel accepted.&#8221; The group charges hundreds of dollars for half-day and full-day workshops to parents, students, and companies through its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diversityrolemodels.org\/education-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">consultation<\/a> services.<\/p>\n<p>The charity&#8217;s materials for children aged one to seven include a slideshow in which children are asked to ponder the phrase &#8220;love is love&#8221; and watch an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Yh1C0u4uBso\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">animated music video<\/a> for a &#8220;fun LGBT+ inclusive kids&#8217; song.&#8221; The video shows graphics of non-traditional family relationships and a drag queen.<\/p>\n<p>Terry Schilling, the president of the American Principles Project, told the <em>Free Beacon<\/em> that the vast majority of Americans think children should be free from the sexual lifestyles of adults.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That LEGO\u2014and really every other major corporation\u2014is joining the bandwagon in further sexualizing children is not just disappointing, it&#8217;s disgusting.
