The report found the lab\u2019s Chief Chinese scientist, Dr. Shi Zhengli, collaborated with at least two officials with the People\u2019s Liberation Army of China.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NBCNews?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NBCNews<\/a> on PLA role at WIV. If <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ShiZhengli?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ShiZhengli<\/a> not telling the truth, we couldn&#8217;t trust her that the WIV didn&#8217;t have <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SARSCoV2?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SARSCoV2<\/a> or a precursor virus in its repository prior to the outbreak. Her contacts with Chinese military scientists date back to 2018 and 2019. The report noted that they were related to gain of function research.
