Even Joy Behar \u2014 despite some earlier eye-rolls \u2014 squeezed out a few pseudo-compliments among discussions of their on-screen clashes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>When McCain joined the show in October 2017, she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2017\/tv\/news\/meghan-mccain-the-view-abc-news-1202584210\/\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> she was \u201chonored and proud to be part of such an iconic show with a diverse, smart, strong and interesting group of women.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI\u2019ve been a fan of the show for many years,\u201d McCain added, \u201cso taking my seat at that table is definitely a career highlight!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-9745375\/Meghan-McCain-announce-resignation-View-today.html\"><span>The Daily Mail<\/span><\/a><span> first reported that McCain was planning to leave the show after four years, with two years remaining on her contract.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMeghan will announce her resignation on Thursday\u2019s show,\u201d a Disney source told The Daily Mail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe source added that her co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro, \u2018are not yet aware that Meghan has resigned,\u2019\u201d The Daily Mail added.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe have tried to keep her, but she is adamant that now is the right time for her to leave,\u201d the source said. \u201cShe will finish at the end of July 2021.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The outlet also noted that, at the time of publication, neither ABC nor McCain had responded to requests for comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/meghan-mccain-to-quit-the-view-report\"><span>Fox News<\/span><\/a><span> reported that a person close to McCain said that \u201cIt was her decision\u201d to leave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/07\/01\/meghan-mccain-is-leaving-the-view-report\/?utm_source=NYPTwitter&amp;utm_medium=SocialFlow&amp;utm_campaign=SocialFlow\"><span>Page Six<\/span><\/a><span> noted, \u201cAt the beginning of the year, McCain sounded like she wasn\u2019t planning an imminent exit from the talk show \u2014 despite her regular on-air clashes with Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and other more liberal co-hosts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBecause whether we like it or not, I\u2019m not going anywhere on the show, Joy\u2019s not going anywhere on the show, we all have to live and co-exist together just like Americans right now,\u201d McCain had <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=jdGS8xv1ibs\"><span>told<\/span><\/a><span> Andy Cohen on \u201cWatch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen\u201d in January, \u201cwhich is a little deeper of an answer, but we\u2019re all going to try and co-exist and I really want to have us all move forward.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
