According to a Politico report Wednesday, he\u2019s almost certain to announce his candidacy in the next few days.<\/p>\n<p>Elder is a vocal supporter of recalling current California governor, Democrat Gavin Newsom, while asserting he does practically everything to avoid a recall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor those of you outside of California, everything is done in the context of the recall election because there\u2019s going to be a recall election,\u201d he stated. \u201cWhether or not Gavin Newsom is recalled remains to be seen, but there will be a recall election.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Larry Elder Show: Everything Newsom Does in California is to Avoid Recall<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xiHl3OJy49\">https:\/\/t.co\/xiHl3OJy49<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/RecallNewsom?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#RecallNewsom<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WeveGotACountryToSave?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WeveGotACountryToSave<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/73OdGxDuWJ\">pic.twitter.com\/73OdGxDuWJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Larry Elder (@larryelder) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/larryelder\/status\/1409992042919333891?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 29, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Fellow conservative radio show host Dennis Prager has been supportive of a potential gubernatorial run for Elder. During his own radio show, Prager read aloud a quote from Elder about a run for the California governors seat. He stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI feel about that office that way Walter Ehrnfelt felt when asked if he wanted to be a senator. He said I\u2019d love to serve, I\u2019d hate to run.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Elders would join a slew of other candidates who have announced their candidacy to run to replace Newsom.
