Voting rights groups had condemned the law, which they said would disenfranchise thousands of voters, NBC News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/supreme-court\/supreme-court-upholds-restrictive-arizona-voting-laws-test-voting-rights-n1272892\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArizona law generally makes it very easy to vote,\u201d Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the court\u2019s majority opinion. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/12\/arizona-doug-ducey-election-bill-stops-voters-automatically-receiving-absentee-ballots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Arizona Adopts Election Reform Bill That Stops Some Voters From Automatically Receiving Absentee Ballots)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne strong and entirely legitimate state interest is the prevention of fraud,\u201d he continued. \u201cFraud can affect the outcome of a close election, and fraudulent votes dilute the right of citizens to cast ballots that carry appropriate weight. Doug Ducey <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/12\/arizona-doug-ducey-election-bill-stops-voters-automatically-receiving-absentee-ballots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed<\/a> the voting legislation into law in May.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, Clarence Thomas and Amy Coney Barrett joined Alito.
