As the search and rescue efforts continue in the rubble of the beachfront condos, Florida prosecutors are pursuing a grand jury investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Tuesday, Miami-Dade District Attorney Katherine Rundle said the investigation would examine factors which led to the partial collapse of the 12-story building, which was 40-years old. Grand juries in South Florida have examined other major high-profile disasters such as the deadly pedestrian bridge collapse at Florida International University back in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, the bridge had numerous design flaws and killed six people when it collapsed.<\/p>\n<p>As plans are in the works for a grand jury probe, a growing number of lawsuits have been launched against the condo association.
