During a press conference on Tuesday, Scalise stated the GOP has not been on board with a bill that would raise taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Scalise said Republicans have been waiting to hear more from the White House and the bipartisan group who have been negotiating, but lawmakers are hopeful about physical infrastructure talks. However, the Louisiana lawmaker insisted Republicans would not budge on their refusal to support a bill containing tax increases.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Our nation&#8217;s infrastructure is in need of repair. We&#8217;ve reached a deal on an infrastructure package that focuses on physical infrastructure\u2014roads, bridges, airports\u2014without raising taxes or adding to the deficit. We&#8217;ll keep working with colleagues to get this signed into law. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ptrGLsb1X5\">pic.twitter.com\/ptrGLsb1X5<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Senator Mitt Romney (@SenatorRomney) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenatorRomney\/status\/1408141066105200640?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 24, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scalise went on to slam Democrats for proposing such a massive bill with no idea how to pay for it.
