The claim appears to stem from a website that describes itself as containing \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/gary.kleser\/posts\/4482971235068299\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">image<\/a> shows a Telegram message that contains what looks like a link to a <a href=\"https:\/\/bestnewshere.com\/military-convicts-william-barr-on-june-21-the-office-of-military-commissions-convicted-former-attorney-general-william-barr-on-charges-of-treason-buttressing-donald-j-trumps-assertion-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent Best News Here article<\/a> that puts up the headline \u201cMilitary Convicts William Barr.\u201d It claims the former attorney general was convicted June 21 of treason partly in connection to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/electoral-college\/2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2020 presidential election<\/a> and has been sentenced to death.<\/p>\n<p>These allegations are baseless, however. Check Your Fact didn\u2019t find any&nbsp;mention of Barr being charged, arrested or convicted of such a crime in press releases on the respective websites of the <a href=\"https:\/\/search.justice.gov\/search?query=William+Barr&amp;op=Search&amp;affiliate=justice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Justice<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/search.usa.gov\/search?query=William%20Barr&amp;affiliate=defensegov&amp;utf8=%26%23x2713%3B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Defense<\/a>. There is also <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2019\/07\/17\/fact-check-ross-perot-100-million-will-trump-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no reporting<\/a> from national news outlets about Barr being convicted or sentenced to death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not true,\u201d a Department of Defense spokesperson said in an email to Check Your Fact when asked about the claim. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/12\/18\/fact-check-attorney-general-william-barr-board-dominion-voting-systems\/\">(RELATED: Does Attorney General William Barr Sit On The Board Of Dominion Voting Systems?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Best News Here story lifts from a <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2021\/06\/military-convicts-william-barr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">June 27 Real Raw News article<\/a>, a keyword search revealed. While Real Raw News <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">states<\/a> on its \u201cAbout Us\u201d page that its website \u201ccontains humor, parody, and satire,\u201d the Best News Here article and the Facebook image do not include a similar Disclaimer, leading some users to mistakenly believe the story is real.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time inaccurate claims have stemmed from Real Raw News articles. Check Your Fact has previously debunked social media posts baselessly alleging that former President Bill Clinton <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/06\/28\/fact-check-bill-clinton-convicted-military-tribunal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">was convicted<\/a> by a military tribunal and that Democratic California Rep.
