Vance\u2019s team told Fischetti that the current batch of possible charges related to executives at the Trump Organization allegedly failing to pay taxes on corporate benefits. Vance\u2019s team denied building a case for any other charges after getting pressed by Fischetti for more information. As Politico reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"25\">\n<p><em>\u201cWe asked, \u2018Is there anything else?\u2019\u201d Fischetti told POLITICO. \u201cThey said, \u2018No.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s crazy that that\u2019s all they had,\u201d he added.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When asked if the meeting touched on allegations made by Trump\u2019s former lawyer Michael Cohen and by adult film star and director Stormy Daniels, Fischetti replied, \u201cNothing. Not a word on that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fischetti also said that Vance\u2019s team told him they will not bring charges against Trump himself when the first indictment comes down.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThey just said, \u2018When this indictment comes down, he won\u2019t be charged. Our investigation is ongoing,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Fischetti said that the charges are expected to hit the Trump Organization either this week or the next. The charges Fischetti now expects are far less severe than the alleged criminal conduct reported in the media and hyped by New York Attorney General Letitia James.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s like the Shakespeare play&nbsp;<em>Much Ado About Nothing<\/em>,\u201d Fischetti said. \u201cThis is so small that I can\u2019t believe I\u2019m going to have to try a case like this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In May, James <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-new-yorks-attorney-general-announces-trump-organization-under-criminal-investigation\">announced<\/a> that her office was partnering with Vance\u2019s to carry out a criminal investigation into the former president and the Trump Organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the Organization is no longer purely civil in nature,\u201d James\u2019 office said in a statement at the time. \u201cWe are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA. We have no additional comment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vance first began probing Trump in 2018 amid allegations that he and his former layer Michael Cohen had broken campaign finance law by paying \u201chush money\u201d to Daniels in order to keep an affair secret. Vance\u2019s office has also been investigating whether the Trump Organization misled lenders and insurance companies on the correct value of its properties. James eventually joined Vance\u2019s investigation into Trump and the Trump Organization.<\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-trump-jr-blast-ny-ag-letitia-james-for-political-persecution-this-is-banana-republic-stuff\">blasted<\/a> James in a May statement, accusing the attorney general of carrying out a politically driven investigation against him. Trump said:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"29\">\n<p><em>The Attorney General of New York literally campaigned on prosecuting Donald Trump even before she knew anything about me. She said that if elected, she would use her office to look into \u201cevery aspect\u201d of my real estate dealings. She swore that she would \u201cdefinitely sue\u201d me. She boasted on video that she would be, and I quote, \u201ca real pain in the a**.\u201d She declared, \u201cjust wait until I\u2019m in the Attorney General\u2019s office,\u201d and, \u201cI\u2019ve got my eyes on Trump Tower.\u201d She also promised that, if elected, she would \u201cjoin with law enforcement and other Attorney Generals [sic] across this nation in removing this President from office,\u201d and, \u201cIt\u2019s important that everyone understand that the days of Donald Trump are coming to an end.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Attorney General made each of these statements, not after having had an opportunity to actually look at the facts, but BEFORE she was even elected, BEFORE she had seen even a shred of evidence. This is something that happens in failed third world countries, not the United States.
