The rumor stems from an article on a website stating that it features \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/michael.prentice.965\/posts\/2142905115851113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lengthy June 25 post<\/a> alleges the Office of Military Commissions on June 22 convicted Clinton on \u201ccharges of treason and child trafficking, but sentenced him to life in prison instead of death after he threw himself on the mercy of the court in a tearful collapse.\u201d It features a photo of Clinton speaking.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/michael.prentice.965\/posts\/2142905115851113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">goes on<\/a> to describe the supposed final day of proceedings in the tribunal, including the prosecution allegedly presenting photographic evidence provided by the deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s long-time associate <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nh-state-wire-ghislaine-maxwell-trials-9812ecf0a5ded40d0fede8f4050122f3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ghislaine Maxwell<\/a>. At the end, it claims Clinton has been sentenced to life in a Guantanamo Bay detention center.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, Clinton has not been convicted or sentenced to life imprisonment for treason and child trafficking. Neither the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/news?keys=Bill+Clinton&#038;items_per_page=25https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/news?keys=Bill+Clinton&#038;items_per_page=25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Justice<\/a> nor the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/Newsroom\/releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Defense<\/a> has announced anything to that effect in press releases. A search of PACER, a database of federal court records, also yielded no results for such a conviction or sentencing of the former president.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact recently debunked a video <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/06\/24\/fact-check-bill-clinton-undergoing-military-tribunal-guantanamo-bay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">falsely alleging<\/a> Clinton was being tried by a military tribunal. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/bill-clinton-says-suspend-filibuster-074500453.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yahoo! News<\/a>, Clinton did an interview on \u201cLate Night with Seth Meyers\u201d June 23, the day after the Facebook post claimed Clinton was sentenced to life in prison.\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/06\/23\/fact-check-ghislaine-maxwell-lady-gaga-aunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Is Ghislaine Maxwell Lady Gaga\u2019s Aunt?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post\u2019s text matches that from an <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2021\/06\/military-tribunal-convicts-bill-clinton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> published by the website Real Raw News June 24.
