In practice, it will ensure that federal agencies employ tenets associated with Critical Race Theory (CRT) within their hiring practices and day-to-day activities.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"7.4468085106383\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Biden signs executive order to boost diversity, equity within federal workforce <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JNJijBBje0\">https:\/\/t.co\/JNJijBBje0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Fox News (@FoxNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FoxNews\/status\/1408598059261607941?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 26, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist, yet it teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue \u201cantiracism\u201d through the end of merit, objective truth and the adoption of race-based policies.<\/p>\n<p>The executive order directs federal agencies to \u201cdevelop strategic plans to eliminate any barriers to success faced by under-served employees.\u201d This will be felt through federal hiring, which will prioritize \u201ccommunities that have historically faced employment discrimination and professional barriers, including people of color, women, first-generation professionals and immigrants, individuals with disabilities, [and] LGBTQ+ individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other designated groups to be prioritized in hiring include \u201cAmericans who live in rural areas, older Americans who face age discrimination when seeking employment, parents and caregivers who face employment barriers, people of faith who require religious accommodations at work, individuals who were formerly incarcerated, and veterans and military spouses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the order requires diversity <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/08\/13\/federal-lab-nuclear-government-white-male-re-education-training-sandia-national-laboratories-white-men-full-diversity-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">trainings<\/a> like the one conducted by Sandia National Laboratories, a government contractor that helps manage nuclear weapons. During a three-day \u201cWhite Men\u2019s Caucus,\u201d male employees were required to recite \u201cwhite privilege\u201d and \u201cmale privilege\u201d statements, according to leaked documents <a href=\"https:\/\/christopherrufo.com\/nuclear-consequences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> on by Manhattan Institute fellow Christopher Rufo. Trainers at the caucus told the participants that \u201cwhite supremacists,\u201d \u201cKKK,\u201d \u201cAryan Nation,\u201d \u201cMAGA hat,\u201d \u201cprivileged\u201d and \u201cmass killings\u201d were all associated with \u201cwhite male culture.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/08\/13\/josh-hawley-diversity-training-sandia-national-laboratories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Deeply Disturbing\u2019: Sen. Hawley Reacts To Documents Detailing \u2018White Men\u2019s Caucus\u2019 Race Training In US Nuclear Facility)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those trainings were later <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/04\/trump-directs-cease-desist-critical-race-theory-federal-agencies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">banned<\/a> by a Trump administration executive order. That executive order was later <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/29\/naacp-national-urban-league-national-fair-housing-alliance-diversity-training-trump-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">challenged<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2020\/12\/23\/trump-diversity-training-ban-executive-order-blocked-federal-judge\/4033590001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">court<\/a> by the NAACP, and Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/20\/executive-order-advancing-racial-equity-and-support-for-underserved-communities-through-the-federal-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">revoked<\/a> it on his first day in office.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration claims that these trainings \u201cpromote respectful and inclusive workplaces and\u2026 increase understanding of implicit and unconscious bias.\u201d However, numerous studies have found that the trainings not only fail to achieve their stated aims but actually make race relations worse.<\/p>\n<p>Implicit bias trainings have not \u201cbeen shown to result in permanent, long-term reductions of implicit bias scores or, more importantly, sustained and meaningful changes in behavior,\u201d public health professor Tiffany Green and psychology professor Nao Hagiwara <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/the-problem-with-implicit-bias-training\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a> in Scientific American.<\/p>\n<p>The value of the Implicit Association Test, which purports to measure implicit biases, is hotly contested by psychologists. \u201cThere\u2019s not a single study showing that above and below that cutoff [0.65 on a 2 point scale] people differ in any way based on that score,\u201d Texas A&#038;M University psychology professor Hart Blanton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apa.org\/monitor\/2008\/07-08\/psychometric\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">argues<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Even worse, diversity trainings like the one the employees of Sandia Labs were required to participate in can actually make race relations worse.
