While speaking on the Senate floor on Thursday, McConnell decried Democrat leadership for their \u201cshort-lived\u201d bipartisanship.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after Biden threated to veto the infrastructure proposal if lawmakers didn\u2019t additionally pass a separate reconciliation bill. McConnell also accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) of \u201cpulling the rug out from under their bipartisan negotiators.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Less than two hours after publicly endorsing our colleagues\u2019 bipartisan agreement on infrastructure, the President took the extraordinary step of threatening to veto it. That\u2019s not the way to show you\u2019re serious about getting a bipartisan outcome. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/X19VKDAoul\">pic.twitter.com\/X19VKDAoul<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Leader McConnell (@LeaderMcConnell) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LeaderMcConnell\/status\/1408177969705762825?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 24, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He went on to suggest Biden doesn\u2019t really want to work with Republicans as the Democrat has been flipping on his word to appease his own party. McConnell added how Biden\u2019s remarks prove that he has no desire to reach a bipartisan outcome, warning that Democrats will stop at nothing in order to \u201ckeep their runaway spending train chugging along all summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut really caving completely in less than two hours, that\u2019s not the way to show you\u2019re serious about getting a bipartisan outcome.
