Democrats saw an increase of 7% in favor of such policies compared to 2019.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.363636363636\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Just half of younger Americans now hold a positive view of capitalism \u2014 and socialism\u2019s appeal in the U.S. continues to grow, driven by Black Americans and women, according to a new Axios\/Momentive poll. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vOQSBsCehy\">https:\/\/t.co\/vOQSBsCehy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Axios (@axios) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/axios\/status\/1408397058990555139?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 25, 2021<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The views among young Republicans aged 18-34 have shifted dramatically with only 40% in 2019 saying the government should pursue such policies, compared to an increase to 56% in 2021, the Friday survey found. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/08\/15\/bernie-sanders-america-fundamentally-immoral\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Bernie Sanders Calls America \u2018Fundamentally Immoral\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>81% of Republicans aged 18-34 had a positive view of capitalism when polled in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, only 66% had a positive opinion of capitalism. Among Gen Z adults aged 18-24, only 42% have a positive view of capitalism and 54% have a negative view.<\/p>\n<p>58% of Americans aged 18-34 had favorable views of capitalism in 2019, which has declined to 49% in 2021, according to the poll.<\/p>\n<p>Perceptions of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/11\/28\/poll-young-americans-republicans-socialism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">socialism<\/a> are still negative nationally, with 41% of Americans in the Axios poll saying they have a favorable view and 52% saying they have a negative view.<\/p>\n<p>The online poll was conducted June 11 \u2013 15 using a sample of 2,309 adults with a margin of error of +\/- 3 points.<\/p>\n<p>Another Axios poll in June 2019 found that 55% of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/06\/10\/women-prefer-socialism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">women<\/a> aged 18-54 said they would prefer to live in a socialist country over a capitalist country.<\/p>\n<p>Only 29% of respondents in a 2019 Monmouth University <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/05\/07\/poll-socialism-un-american\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a> believed socialism is \u201ccompatible\u201d with American values.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
