She also acknowledged the discriminatory history that minority farmers have faced, but said that present discrimination was the incorrect way to right past wrongs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is undeniable \u2014 and notably uncontested by the parties \u2014 that U.S.D.A. had a dark history of past discrimination against minority farmers,\u201d Judge Howard wrote. \u201cIt appears that in enacting Section 1005 Congress relies, albeit without any ill intention, on present discrimination to remedy past discrimination,\u201d she wrote. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/15\/jon-stevens-minority-farm-loan-program-biden-covid-relief\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018As Long As You\u2019re Not White, You Qualify\u2019: Farmer Suing Biden Admin Over COVID-19 Relief Speaks Out)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the record before the Court, it appears that in adopting Section 1005\u2019s strict race-based debt relief remedy Congress moved with great speed to address the history of discrimination, but did not move with great care,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling comes nearly two weeks after a Wisconsin judge <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/11\/judge-halts-debt-relief-farmers-of-color\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ruled similarly<\/a> regarding a suit brought by a dozen white farmers insisting that they be included in the relief program.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
