Tony Evers.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2021\/related\/proposals\/ab293.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2021 Assembly Bill 293<\/a> will add \u201crestrictions on enforcing federal laws regulating firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition, the use of public resources to confiscate firearms\u201d and enforce those restrictions with \u201ca penalty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bill requires gun manufacturers in the state to \u201cclearly\u201d engrave the words \u201cMade in Wisconsin\u201d on a \u201ccentral metal part\u201d of their products. In cases where there is no space for such a stamp, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/27\/massachusetts-lawmakers-may-have-finally-found-a-way-to-drive-out-their-last-three-gun-manufacturers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gunsmiths<\/a> can engrave an abbreviated version, the bill\u2019s text states. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/23\/joe-biden-gun-control-violent-crime-rate-nuclear-weapons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Dismisses Idea You Need Guns To Protect Yourself From Government)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the legislation deems it unlawful for a person to enforce any \u201cfederal act, law, statute, rule, regulation, treaty, or order\u201d coming into force on or after Jan. 1 that \u201cbans or restricts semi-automatic firearms, assault weapons, or magazines; requires registration of firearms, magazines, or other firearm accessories; regulates the capacity of magazines; regulates the quantity of ammunition or bullets an individual.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7222642\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"36\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7222642\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7222642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/GettyImages-674918438-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"National Rifle Association members look over guns in the Barrett display at the 146th NRA Annual Meetings Exhibits on April 29, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Scott Olson\/Getty Images)<\/small><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The bill bans state agencies and local authorities \u201cfrom expending moneys or using other resources\u201d to confiscate lawfully-owned firearms.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters of the bill say it will make <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/21\/triple-murder-suspect-forces-woman-driving-33-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wisconsin<\/a> a \u201cSecond Amendment sanctuary,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2021\/06\/23\/wisconsin-senate-poised-enact-2nd-amendment-sanctuary-legislation-second-guns\/5329053001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to USA Today. However, questions surrounding the legislation\u2019s constitutionality arise as similar bills in other states have reportedly been considered unconstitutional because federal laws cannot be overridden by state laws.<\/p>\n<p>Passed by the state legislature through a voice vote, the bill faces one major hurdle \u2014 the state\u2019s Democratic governor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/31\/wisconsins-supreme-court-mask-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evers<\/a> is expected to veto the bill, being someone who has called for more firearm oversight, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/joe-biden-wi-state-wire-wisconsin-bills-gun-politics-0ed47e79f4c17616ebd3db77ac82d236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Associated Press and USA Today.
