The document is fabricated and did not originate with the U.S. government, according to the U.S. Embassy in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The image shows what appears to be a June 11 press release from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/about-us\/mission-and-core-values\">U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services<\/a> (USCIS). The top line of the document reads, \u201cAMERICAN E-VISA FOR THE CITIZENS OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF KENYA PRESS RELEASE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/107181511597004\/photos\/a.107186288263193\/107186258263196\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">alleged press release<\/a>, it claims Biden recently signed an executive order to make thousands of Kenyans who are health workers, engineers, marine workers, civil servants, business administrators, accountants, lecturers and special skills workers eligible for E-visas and residence permits. E-visas are designated for \u201ctreaty traders, treaty investors, and certain nonimmigrant employees of such people (and their spouses and children) who come to the U.S. under a treaty of commerce and navigation between the U.S. and their country of nationality,\u201d according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-9-central\/complete-correct-form-i-9\/e-visas\">USCIS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The document in the Facebook post is fake. A review of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USCIS\u2019s website<\/a>, as well as its verified <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=Kenya%20(from%3AUSCIS)&#038;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/page\/228759177135310\/search\/?q=Kenya\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook accounts<\/a>, turned up no instances of the agency announcing the supposed measure. Likewise, there is no record of Biden signing such an executive order in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/presidential-documents\/executive-orders\/joe-biden\/2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Register\u2019s database<\/a> of his executive orders or among the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">presidential actions<\/a> listed on the White House website.<\/p>\n<p>A close examination of the document itself reveals other red flags that further indicate it is fabricated. The press release references the \u201cU.S. Department of Immigration,\u201d which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=U.S.+Department+of+Immigration&#038;bih=685&#038;biw=1396&#038;rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS820US820&#038;hl=en&#038;source=hp&#038;ei=eUXSYIiNHJuS0PEP9IOcgAc&#038;iflsig=AINFCbYAAAAAYNJTiaVs9bwa6pFTkpHTQ3bbqvPzoTch&#038;oq=U.S.+Department+of+Immigration&#038;gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAMyAggAMgYIABAWEB4yBggAEBYQHjIGCAAQFhAeMgYIABAWEB4yCQgAEMkDEBYQHjIGCAAQFhAeMgYIABAWEB4yBggAEBYQHjIGCAAQFhAeUMqtAVjKrQFglq8BaAFwAHgAgAFmiAFmkgEDMC4xmAEAoAECoAEBqgEHZ3dzLXdperABAA&#038;sclient=gws-wiz&#038;ved=0ahUKEwjIreLkh6zxAhUbCTQIHfQBB3AQ4dUDCAk&#038;uact=5\">does not exist<\/a>, and also appears to sport TV personality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oprahdaily.com\/entertainment\/books\/a32825018\/best-summer-books-2020\/\">Oprah Winfrey<\/a>\u2018s signature.<\/p>\n<p>Victoria Palmer, a USCIS spokesperson, denied in an email to Check Your Fact that the press release came from the agency, noting, \u201cThis document is filled with glaring errors and attributes common to scam documents and emails.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/04\/25\/fact-check-russian-embassy-kenya-press-release-imported-sputnik-vaccine\/\">(RELATED: Did The Russian Embassy In Kenya Put Out This Press Release About Imported Sputnik V Vaccines?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Embassy in Kenya <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USEmbassyKenya\/status\/1405379501417193473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also called<\/a> the document \u201cfake\u201d in a June 17 tweet.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.055172413793\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kainda2020?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@kainda2020<\/a> \u2013 thank you for fact checking!
