The idea is to find backers who can help it become more of a mainstream media platform and lessen its reputation for porn.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Though OnlyFans has roots in adult entertainment, the site wants to be a place where a broad range of celebrities and athletes can connect with fans. It\u2019s also looking to attract more advertisers, some of which may be wary of its porn ties.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>In a recent move signaling a shift away from lewd content, OnlyFans <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/boxing-icon-floyd-mayweather-jr-launches-onlyfans-profile-ahead-of-exhibition-fight-301306346.html\"><span>partnered<\/span><\/a><span> with boxer and promoter Floyd Mayweather, who launched an account to \u201ccommunicate directly with his biggest fans and share a real glimpse into his life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOnlyFans will be a new experience for fans. I\u2019m looking forward to sharing a glimpse into my life and some never before seen content while getting to know top fans,\u201d he explained in a press release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Former Disney Channel star Bella Thorne recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/bella-thorne-says-she-went-on-onlyfans-to-normalize-sex-work\"><span>joined<\/span><\/a><span> the site to destigmatize \u201csex work,\u201d earning $1 million in one day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cRemove the stigma behind sex, sex work, and the negativity that surrounds the word SEX itself by bringing a mainstream face to it that\u2019s what I was trying to do, to help bring more faces to the site to create more revenue for content creators on the site,\u201d she wrote in a tweet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Likewise, Danielle Bregoli \u2014 the \u201cCash Me Outside\u201d girl who gained notoriety after a viral appearance on \u201cDr. Phil\u201d \u2014 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cash-me-outside-girl-claims-to-have-broken-onlyfans-record-making-1-million-in-6-hours\"><span>created<\/span><\/a><span> an account shortly after her eighteenth birthday and earned $1 million in six hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>OnlyFans\u2019 pivot comes as MindGeek subsidiary PornHub faces a deluge of lawsuits from women who say that the site profited from videos depicting rape, child pornography, revenge porn, and other nonconsensual content in violation of federal law.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brownrudnick.com\/press_release\/brown-rudnick-launches-landmark-case-against-human-trafficking-and-child-pornography-in-the-online-porn-industry\/\"><span>action<\/span><\/a><span> filed by law firm Brown Rudnick:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p><i><span>The lawsuit alleges claims under the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act of 2000, which provides a private right of action for victims of human trafficking against any entity that engages in trafficking or benefits from a trafficking venture\u2026 Brown Rudnick is seeking damages for the devastation this exploitation has caused these victims, protection for them and thousands of other victims from further exploitation, and the imposition of stringent policies and procedures that ensure only legitimate, legally compliant consensual content is permitted on MindGeek\u2019s platform.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Last year, PornHub <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pornhub-scrubs-millions-of-videos\"><span>scrubbed<\/span><\/a><span> 60% of their content after Mastercard and Visa announced that they would stop allowing the use of their cards on the platform.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
