Numerous left-wing sites falsely claimed Trump cleared out \u201cpeaceful protesters\u201d from\u00a0Lafayette Square for a \u201cphoto-op.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inspector-general-debunks-claims-made-by-biden-harris-left-wing-media-against-trump\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p><em>CNN \u201cfact-checker\u201d Daniel Dale, also made claims about the events of that day.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c[Trump impeachment defense attorney Michael] Van der Veen falsely claims the clearing of Lafayette Square last June happened to \u2018establish an appropriate security perimeter\u2019 from a \u2018riotous mob,\u2019\u201d Dale tweeted during Trump\u2019s impeachment trial in February 2021. \u201cNo. They cleared peaceful protesters out of the way for a Trump photo-op. The \u2018narrative\u2019 van der Veen is mocking is correct.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier this month, the\u00a0U.S. Department of the Interior\u2019s Inspector General <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inspector-general-debunks-claims-made-by-biden-harris-left-wing-media-against-trump\">debunked<\/a> such claims:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p><em>The evidence we reviewed showed that the USPP cleared the park to allow a contractor to safely install antiscale fencing in response to destruction of Federal property and injury to officers that occurred on May 30 and May 31. Moreover, the evidence established that relevant USPP officials had made those decisions and had begun implementing the operational plan several hours before they knew of a potential Presidential visit to the park, which occurred later that day. As such, we determined that the evidence did not support a finding that the USPP cleared the park on June 1, 2020, so that then President Trump could enter the park.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stelter also suggested that CNN never shied away from the bombshell Hunter Biden laptop story. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/10\/18\/media\/new-york-post-hunter-biden-reliable\/index.html\">highlighted<\/a> by Stelter\u2019s own network, here was some of the host\u2019s take on the New York Post bombshell reporting concerning the laptop back in October:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p class=\"zn-body__paragraph\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_6A5E9408-1177-711D-7633-3CCE7BF222A3\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_5\"><em>\u201cThis is a classic example of the right-wing media machine,\u201d Stelter said. \u201cFox and Trump have this in common: They want you to stay mad and stay tuned.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"zn-body__paragraph\" data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_059B6BA3-B1C4-32AE-910F-3CE91A0F5835\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_6\"><em>The story is a \u201cmanufactured scandal,\u201d Stelter said, meant to feed \u201cwhataboutism\u201d \u2014 an opportunity for the right-wing media to shift the conversation from Trump\u2019s record to Biden\u2019s.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_059B6BA3-B1C4-32AE-910F-3CE91A0F5835\" data-act-id=\"paragraph_6\">Stelter told C-Span viewers that CNN did not offer extensive coverage of the laptop because they were \u201cstymied\u201d by Trump allies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy suggestion is whatever CNN says, do the opposite and you\u2019ll be fine,\u201d another caller told Stelter.<\/p>\n<p>One man likened CNN\u2019s inauguration night coverage of President Joe Biden to eunuchs\u00a0covering Persian kings. \u201cPretty shameless if you ask me,\u201d the caller said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Stelter is the biggest minister of misinformation I have ever heard \u2026,\u201d said another American.<\/p>\n<p>Stelter also notably accepted a challenge from a caller to go head-to-head with Fox News host Sean Hannity and take questions via C-Span airwaves. \u201cIf Hannity wants to do it, as well, I\u2019m game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Humpty Dumpty Has A Great Fall: C-SPAN Callers Roast CNN&#039;s Brian Stelter\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/h5m1UAuUQSg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inspector-general-debunks-claims-made-by-biden-harris-left-wing-media-against-trump\">Inspector General Debunks Claims Made By Biden, Harris, Left-Wing Media Against\u00a0Trump<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
