The <a href=\"https:\/\/forthepeopleact.support\/\"><u>letter<\/u><\/a> was backed by a number of advocacy groups such as Vote.org\u00a0and Michelle Obama\u2019s When We All Vote<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than 360 bills in 47 states have been introduced to put up barriers to silence our fellow Americans\u2019 voices, especially the voices of Black, Brown, young, disabled, and working class voters,\u201d the letter said. \u201cThe For the People Act would override many of the abusive state laws that make it harder for millions to cast their ballots, and set national standards for free and fair elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe applaud the House for passing the For the People Act, and urge the Senate to follow suit and do its part to protect our democracy,\u201d the letter continued. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/30\/us-corporations-georgia-voting-bill-nightmare-conditions-chinese-factories-forced-labor\/\"><u>(RELATED: US Corporations Critical Of Georgia Voting Bill Linked To \u2018Nightmare\u2019 Conditions In Chinese Factories, Forced Labor)<\/u><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7218980\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"34\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7218980\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7218980\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/SchumerManchin-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"Sen. Bernstein\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The businesses backing the letter included Ben &#038; Jerry\u2019s, Bad Robot Productions, Tumblr, and The National Hockey League. The companies argued they had a responsibility to advocate for the rights of their employees by urging passage of the bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call upon our colleagues in corporate America to join us in taking a nonpartisan stand for a democracy that is inclusive of all Americans, and we stand united with the American people to re-imagine democracy for all,\u201d the letter said. \u201cTogether, we can ensure our employees and communities can safely and freely cast their ballots so every voice is heard and our elections reflect the will of the people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/04\/house-passed-hr-1-for-people-act\/\"><u>For the People Act<\/u><\/a>, if enacted, would eliminate voter identification requirements, require states to implement automatic voter registration, expand mail-in voting, and loosen rules around third-party handling of ballots, among other provisions.<\/p>\n<p>Businesses have previously come out against Republican voting legislation, with the passage of Georgia\u2019s voting laws attracting <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/14\/corporations-georgia-voting-rights\/\"><u>condemnation<\/u><\/a>\u00a0from corporations and celebrities and prompting Major League Baseball to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/05\/social-justice-major-league-baseball-all-star-game-atlanta-georgia-denver-colorado\/\"><u>relocate<\/u><\/a>\u00a0its All-Star Game away from Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
