The NRCC stated on Friday that it has $42.1 million cash on hand while the DCCC has $36 million.<\/p>\n<p>NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer stated, \u201cAmericans are ready to do whatever is necessary to stop Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats\u2019 socialist agenda. May\u2019s record-breaking fundraising numbers are just the latest indication that House Republicans are primed to retake the majority.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, the Democrats hold just a<a href=\"https:\/\/pressgallery.house.gov\/member-data\/party-breakdown\">\u00a0219-211 lead<\/a>\u00a0in the House, a margin that would be 222-213 if the five currently vacant seats remain with the same party after they\u2019ve been filled in special elections this year,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/pressgallery.house.gov\/member-data\/party-breakdown\">U.S. News and World Report<\/a> noted, adding, \u201cAn <a href=\"https:\/\/centerforpolitics.org\/crystalball\/articles\/the-house-democrats-would-have-a-tough-slog-even-without-redistricting\/\">analysis<\/a> by Sabato\u2019s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics characterized 19 Democratic-held House seats as toss-ups for 2022, compared to just two held by Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The party of the president usually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/2-4-Full.pdf\">loses seats<\/a> in midterm elections; that was the case in 17 of the 19 midterm elections since World War II, the report notes. By average, the president\u2019s party lost 27 seats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Brennan Center has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brennancenter.org\/our-work\/research-reports\/redistricting-landscape-2021-22\">found<\/a>\u00a0that the GOP will enjoy complete control of drawing new boundaries for 181 congressional districts, compared with a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/next-redistricting-republican-advantage-over-democrats-2022-midterms-2021-2\">maximum of 74<\/a>\u00a0for Democrats, though the final numbers could fluctuate once the pandemic-delayed census is completed,\u201d radio host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2021\/03\/28\/house-looks-like-gop-lock-2022-senate-will-be-much-harder\/\">Hugh Hewitt<\/a> wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The GOP nearly took back the House in 2020, despite having lost the White House, with the Congressional Leadership Fund spending $140 million in the effort. That group is now poised to lead the effort again in 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/house-republicans-clf-majority-2022-6e849376-af4d-41ba-9522-0f461571130c.html\">Axios<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/02\/10\/republicans-plan-house-takeover-468237\">Politico<\/a> reported in February that the NRCC was targeting 47 House Democrats, including \u201cDemocrats from once-Republican suburban areas where the GOP has suffered in the Trump era, like Reps. Carolyn Bourdeaux (D-Ga.) and Andy Kim (D-N.J.); lawmakers in more GOP-friendly white, working-class regions, such as Reps. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.), Ron Kind (D-Wis.) and Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.); and members in heavily Latino districts along the Texas-Mexico border where\u00a0Trump saw a surprising surge, like Reps. Filem\u00f3n Vela, Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/cookpolitical.com\/analysis\/house\/redistricting\/2020-census-what-reapportionment-numbers-mean\">analysis<\/a> by Cook Political Report\u2019s David Wasserman indicates that Republicans might be able to gain control of the House through redistricting in just\u00a0four states (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2021\/05\/the-future-could-actually-be-bright-for-republicans.html\">NY Mag<\/a> notes.<\/p>\n<p>Another element that might be factored into GOP chances is the fact that President Biden is becoming less and less popular. The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/bidens-approval-rating-plummets-democrats-growing-disillusioned-and-fast-with-direction-of-nation-report\/\">reported<\/a> on Friday:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"9.9318568994889\">\n<p><em>Democrat President Joe Biden\u2019s approval rating plummeted to below 50% in a new Monmouth University poll this week, the first time Biden has ever fallen below 50% in the poll since taking office in January. \u201cBiden currently holds a job rating of 48% approve and 43% disapprove,\u201d Monmouth University\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/polling-institute\/documents\/monmouthpoll_us_061621.pdf\/\">said<\/a> in a poll released on Wednesday. \u201cThis is down from his 54% approve and 41% disapprove rating in April.\u201d The poll found that barely one-third of Independents approve of Biden\u2019s job performance while less than one-fifth of Republicans approve of Biden\u2019s job performance.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
