It appears to be fabricated.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The image shows what appears to be a screen grab of a May 15 tweet from the IDF\u2019s verified Twitter account, @IDF. \u201cIndia stand with Israel?\u201d reads the alleged tweet. \u201cWho ask you to support us? Even a cents your country can\u2019t effort to settle-up a pandemic covid-19 in your country. Stop dreaming in a day time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The alleged tweet was sent in the middle of an <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/israel-palestinian-cease-fire-hamas-caac81bc36fe9be67ac2f7c27000c74b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">11-day violent conflict<\/a> between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. The tweet appears to be alluding to the conflict, as well as the difficulties India has faced in containing the COVID-19 pandemic. The country was hit exceptionally hard by the pandemic and recently reported the highest daily death toll out of any country, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2021\/05\/25\/world\/asia\/india-covid-death-estimates.html\">The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The post does not, however, show a genuine tweet from the IDF. Check Your Fact searched IDF\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=India%20(from%3AIDF)&#038;src=typed_query\">verified Twitter account<\/a>, but found no instances of the tweet in the Facebook post.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210515144318\/https:\/twitter.com\/IDF\">Archived<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210515165522\/https:\/twitter.com\/IDF\">screen grabs<\/a> of the IDF\u2019s Twitter page from May 15, the day the purported tweet was sent, likewise show no matching tweet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompletely false,\u201d an IDF spokesperson told Check Your Fact in an email, when asked about the tweet.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/06\/02\/fact-check-video-footage-israel-hamas-conflict\/\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show Footage Of The May 2021 Israel-Hamas Conflict?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>India has relied on Israeli arm sales for decades, often spending more than $1 billion a year on Israeli weapons, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/industry\/2020\/02\/18\/new-joint-ventures-hint-at-burgeoning-relationship-between-israel-and-india\/\">Defense News<\/a>. India\u2019s permanent representative to the U.N. did, however, declare the country\u2019s support for the \u201cjust Palestinian cause\u201d during the recent fighting between Hamas and the IDF, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/india\/india-reiterates-support-to-just-palestinian-cause\/articleshow\/82695418.cms\">Times of India<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An image shared on Facebook purportedly shows a tweet from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) disparaging India.Verdict: False There is no record of the IDF sending this tweet.
