Instead, the management is being sort of augmented by these technologies,\u201d King\u2019s College London academic Nick Srnicek told The Financial Times. \u201cTechnologies are increasing the pace for people who work with machines instead of the other way around, just like what happened during the industrial revolution in the 18th century.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Canon first announced its \u201cSmiley Face\u201d intelligent ecosystem in October 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c\u2018Jiatron Space\u2019 is an intelligent IT solution independently developed by Canon Innovation Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Canon (China). It is hoped that smiles can let everyone relax and get healthy, thereby creating a more pleasant working atmosphere and improving efficiency,\u201d the post added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/b74b6ad6-3b8d-4cd8-9dd6-3b49754aa1c7\">The Financial Times<\/a>, a spokesperson for Canon China argued that the controversial software was simply intended to be used to create a positive working atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe have been wanting to encourage employees to create a positive atmosphere by utilizing this system with the smile detection setting \u2018on,\u2019\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cMostly, people are just too shy to smile, but once they get used to smiles in the office, they just keep their smiles without the system which created a positive and lively atmosphere.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The progress made by China in the world of artificial intelligence has caused heightened concern in the United States.
