It was refloated and freed nearly a week later. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/03\/30\/fact-check-kids-body-parts-foud-ever-given-department-defense\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Were \u2018Kids And Body Parts\u2019 Found On The Cargo Ship Blocking The Suez Canal?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post features a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@themaineconservative5811\/video\/6973390122981084422?lang=en&#038;is_copy_url=1&#038;is_from_webapp=v1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">June 14 TikTok video<\/a> showing a cargo ship ablaze with smoke billowing from it. \u201cWhy is the Ever Given (Evergreen) ship that blocked the Suez Canal, on fire?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dwayne.mccurley.37\/videos\/898052021054626\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reads<\/a> text in the video. \u201cThe things that were found on this ship would break your heart a million times over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In reality, the ship in the video is not the Ever Given. The original footage without any text appears in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krone.at\/2423620\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">May 27 article<\/a> from the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung, which indicated it showed a ship called the MV X-Press Pearl burning off Sri Lanka\u2019s coast. Similar footage of the same ship can also be found in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/interactive\/2021\/sri-lanka-cargo-ship-fire-pollution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Post article<\/a>. The vessel\u2019s name is visible on its side in portions of the TikTok video.<\/p>\n<p>Registered in Singapore, the MV X-Press Pearl caught fire May 20, burning for 13 days before starting to sink, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/sri-lanka-ship-fire-x-press-pearl-spill-plastic-granules-oil-leak-probe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CBS News<\/a>. The ship, which was transporting chemicals, including many tons of nitric acid, and plastics, spilled massive quantities of plastic pellets into the sea, much of which ended up on Sri Lankan beaches, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/06\/15\/asia\/sri-lanka-ship-captain-arrested-intl-hnk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=ever+given+fire&#038;ei=hXjKYNiMHpOUwbkP89yjuAc&#038;oq=ever+given+fire&#038;gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAMyAggAMgYIABAWEB4yBggAEBYQHjIFCAAQhgMyBQgAEIYDMgUIABCGAzoHCAAQRxCwAzoHCAAQsAMQQzoFCAAQsQM6BAgAEENQx19YuWdgt25oAXACeACAAZkCiAHKBpIBBTMuMi4xmAEAoAEBqgEHZ3dzLXdpesgBCsABAQ&#038;sclient=gws-wiz&#038;ved=0ahUKEwiY44usl53xAhUTSjABHXPuCHcQ4dUDCA4&#038;uact=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">internet search<\/a> didn\u2019t turn up a single credible media report about the Ever Given experiencing a large fire since it was dislodged from the Suez Canal in late March.
