Around 33% of small businesses in the education and health services industry had to shut their doors. Womply considered a business closed if there were no transactions for three consecutive days beginning on March 1. Womply also identified a company as closed if they did all of their transactions through third-party apps, such as DoorDash.<\/p>\n<p>More than 30 million small businesses <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/11\/27\/coronavirus-pandemic-small-business-closures-employment-economic-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">operate<\/a> in the United States and employ more than 50 million people. The Small Business Administration defines a small business as having no more than 1,500 employees and less than $38.5 million in average annual revenue.<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden\u2019s most recent tax proposal in May <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/12\/joe-biden-donald-trump-tax-cut-and-jobs-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">included<\/a> a tax deduction that allows owners of pass-through entities, which are often small businesses, to deduct 20% of their share of their income from their tax filing.<\/p>\n<p>The Job Creators Network, a national small business advocacy group, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/22\/new-york-city-job-creators-network-national-federation-of-independent-business-joe-biden\/\">created<\/a> a billboard in New York City criticizing Biden who reportedly considered removing the tax deduction in March. Biden also considered increasing the tax rate for pass-through entities.
