Clayton County one year ago, the Education Department said, saying that it is \u201cimpossible to discriminate against a person based on their sexual orientation or gender identity\u201d without also discriminating against that person based on sex.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Supreme Court has upheld the right for LGBTQ+ people to live and work without fear of harassment, exclusion, and discrimination \u2013 and our LGBTQ+ students have the same rights and deserve the same protections,\u201d Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said in a statement Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud to have directed the Office for Civil Rights to enforce Title IX to protect all students from all forms of sex discrimination.
