While speaking via video call from a Spanish prison on Tuesday, the 75-year-old millionaire argued the charges were politically motivated.<\/p>\n<p>McAfee was arrested in Barcelona in October for allegedly failing to report income made from promoting cryptocurrencies. However, he claimed the U.S. just wants to make an example out of him.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I am almost 76 and have been in prison, without bail, for seven months. Not much for a younger man in his 40s or even 50s. If convicted, McAfee could spend up to 30 years in prison.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The US spends our money in secrecy.
