Phillip)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 8:48 AM PT \u2013 Wednesday, June 16, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is, once again, warning of power outages.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Tight grid conditions expected due to high number of forced generation outages, grid operator requests energy conservation: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UJzKsUH13s\">https:\/\/t.co\/UJzKsUH13s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 ERCOT (@ERCOT_ISO) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ERCOT_ISO\/status\/1404499209403961352?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 14, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2021\/06\/14\/texas-power-grid-conserve-ercot\/\">reports<\/a> this week, ERCOT said the demand for electricity may exceed the grid\u2019s capacity as temperatures are expected to hit around 100 this week. The council is asking residents to conserve power through the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>This comes as ERCOT officials confirmed a number of power plants have been forced to go offline while citing equipment failures that required immediate repairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s been a lot of wear and tear so far this year. So, it doesn\u2019t surprise me that there\u2019s a lot more maintenance that needs to be done.
