A spokesperson told Business Insider that the firm works with the \u201cinfluencer community\u201d to help \u201ceducate their followers about cryptocurrency and promote the Gemini brand.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Indeed, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies \u2014 which are transmitted virtually and use encryption to ward off counterfeiters \u2014 are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/buy-ban-or-copy-how-governments-are-responding-to-the-cryptocurrency-revolution\"><span>growing<\/span><\/a><span> increasingly influential in the global economy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As investors place bets on digital currencies, leading firms \u2014 such as PayPal \u2014 are beginning to accept bitcoin and facilitate its usage in tandem with the dollar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Accordingly, governments and central banks are formulating their responses to the new currencies. Some \u2014 such as Norway and Singapore \u2014 are home to sovereign wealth funds that are purchasing bitcoin. Others \u2014 such as China, Ecuador, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia \u2014 are discouraging the official use of cryptocurrencies while testing their own \u201ccentral bank digital currencies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Most recently, El Salvador became the first nation to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/el-salvador-seeks-to-adopt-bitcoin-as-legal-tender\"><span>adopt<\/span><\/a><span> bitcoin as an official medium of exchange.
