The teacher told them, \u201cI want to inform you that the government has ruled that from today you no longer need a mask.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.4912280701754\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The moment the teacher tells her pupils that as of now no more masks are required in the State of Israel. <\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RUEYlKYcck\">pic.twitter.com\/RUEYlKYcck<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rick Smol (@RickSmol) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RickSmol\/status\/1404848121432190984?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 15, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cChildren headed to school and adults to work without masks for the first time in more than a year,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/health-coronavirus-israel\/israel-scraps-indoor-mask-order-as-covid-19-infections-wane-idUSL2N2NX0BI\">Reuters<\/a> reported. \u201cIsraelis have not had to wear masks outdoors since April. \u2026 Israel has this month logged either zero or one daily COVID-19 deaths, Health Ministry data show. New infections have been in a steady but gentle decline after a steep drop-off in February and March. The ministry said masks would still be required of unvaccinated patients or staff in medical facilities, of people en route to quarantine and of passengers on commercial flights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In mid-May, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Chief Medical Adviser to President Biden, stated that unvaccinated children would still have to wear masks to school in the fall of 2011.<\/p>\n<p>CNN\u2019s Wolf Blitzer asked, \u201cWe\u2019re getting a lot of questions, Dr. Fauci, from viewers out there who wonder what all this means for them. A serious concern being raised is for the kids, for kids who aren\u2019t yet eligible for the vaccine. What are parents and grandparents, for that matter, supposed to do to keep their unvaccinated children and grandchildren safe?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOkay, so, if you go back to the original CDC guideline, which says that you\u2019re a vaccinated parent or a grandparent, and you have an unvaccinated child in the home, in the home setting, absolutely, you don\u2019t need to wear a mask, you can have physical contact,\u201d Fauci answered. \u201cWhen the children go out into the community, either an indoor or in certain outdoor settings, they should wear a mask if they\u2019re unvaccinated. When they ultimately get vaccinated, it will be the same as the adults.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have said that elementary school kids, young kids probably won\u2019t get vaccinated until the end of this year,\u201d Blitzer noted. \u201cSo, should kids still be wearing masks when they go back to school this fall?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe answer is, first of all, the schools should be open, face- to-face, in person classes in the fall,\u201d Fauci replied. \u201cWe absolutely have to do that.\u00a0And in those situations, if the child, which, obviously, elementary school kids are not vaccinated, they should wear a mask. And I would be \u2014 almost guarantee that most of the schools are going to say, you have to wear a mask if you\u2019re in the school and unvaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, even \u2014 so the 8-, 9-, 10-, 11-year-old kids going back to school, they\u2019re going to spend all day with masks in their classroom?\u201d Blitzer asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019ll be the same. There\u2019s no change,\u201d Fauci stressed. \u201cThat\u2019s the point, Wolf, that \u2014 and it\u2019s understandable why there\u2019s some confusion. But if you analyze it step by step and situation by situation, it really is clear. The only thing that\u2019s changed is that people who are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, can now not wear a mask, not only outdoors, but also indoors.\u00a0What hasn\u2019t changed is what\u2019s going on for the unvaccinated group. And if the unvaccinated group of the elementary school children, nothing has really changed for them.
