Gregory Meeks told ABC News. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/16\/hillary-clinton-domestic-enemies-vladimir-putin-2016-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Clinton Criticizes People Who Don\u2019t \u2018Believe In Our Democracy,\u2019 Then Claims Putin Helped Elect Trump)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the Trump records would be \u201chistorically very interesting,\u201d they are no longer relevant, said Rep. Tom Malinowksi, another Democratic member of the Foreign Affair Committee, according to ABC News. He added that Trump \u201cis not shaping U.S. policy towards Russia or anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrats first raised the issue after <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/07\/18\/trump-putin-responsible-election-meddling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trump\u2019s<\/a> July 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/07\/16\/trump-confronts-putin-on-election-meddling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">summit<\/a> with the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/11\/putin-joe-biden-nbc-news-g-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russian leader<\/a> in Helsinki, Finland, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/house-democrats-demand-documents-trump-putin-talks-n979096\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NBC News<\/a>. They wrote to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, informing them of the probe and asking for additional documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to media reports, President Trump, on multiple occasions, appears to have taken steps to conceal the details of his communications with President Putin from other administration officials, Congress, and the American people,\u201d the chairmen wrote to Meadows and Pompeo, according to NBC News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President reportedly seized notes pertaining to at least one meeting held with President Putin and directed at least one American interpreter not to discuss the substance of communications with President Putin with other federal officials,\u201d the letter continued.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, President Joe Biden met with Putin for a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/15\/geneva-joe-biden-vladimir-putin-alexei-navalny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">summit<\/a> in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday.
