(Photo by Debbi Hill \u2013 Pool\/ Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Presidents commonly hand out certain ambassadorships to prominent donors and other wealthy allies, and the White House has reportedly been debating how many ambassadorships to set aside for that purpose,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2021\/04\/14\/joe-bidens-ambassador-posts-china-mexico-britain-still-vacant\/7109970002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a>\u00a0to USA Today.<\/p>\n<p>Biden still has yet to announce nominations for the ambassadorships to the U.K., Canada, Germany, China, and dozens of other major countries.<\/p>\n<p>The empty post in Beijing is most striking, as Biden has placed America\u2019s ongoing \u201ccompetition\u201d with China at the center of his foreign policy.
