The poll showed that 17.7% of respondents blamed former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats hold Trump more responsible for inflation than <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/11\/vince-jason-save-the-nation-inflation-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden<\/a> by 5.8%, according to the poll. The poll had 95 percent confidence, and a margin of error of 2.99%.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/12\/biden-walks-away-from-question-about-rising-prices-for-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Walks Away From Question About Rising Prices For Americans)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The White House and Trump\u2019s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Economists <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/24\/economists-inflation-federal-reserve-national-association-for-business-economics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">expect<\/a> inflation to \u201caccelerate strongly\u201d in the coming weeks and months, according to the National Association for Business Economics. The consumer price index predicted a rise of 2.8% in 2021 and 2.3% in 2022. Larry Summers, former treasury secretary, predicted inflation would be driven to a once-in-a-generation level if the government increases spending.<\/p>\n<p>The consumer price index <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/13\/consumer-prices-see-largest-increase-in-almost-9-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rose<\/a> 0.6% in March, the highest increase in nearly nine years, with goods like gasoline prices increasing 9.1% in the same period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBidenomics isn\u2019t working. It\u2019s built on a lot of wishful thinking, and a lot of cash,\u201d Charles Gasparino, frequent guest panelist on Fox Business, wrote in an opinion piece <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/06\/10\/latest-economic-figures-shows-bidenomics-is-not-working\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published<\/a> June 10. \u201cPost-COVID, the economy will grow on its own, so you have to ask whether all this spending is worth the inflationary risk,\u201d Gasparino wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn a wide range of issues that hit home for and impact everyday Americans\u2026current leadership in Washington is not only getting it wrong, they\u2019re focused on issues that only DC elites care about,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/conventionofstates.com\/new-poll-majority-of-americans-ignoring-washington-dc-and-choosing-to-make-a-personal-decision-about-the-end-of-the-pandemic-and-returning-to-normal-life\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a> Mark Meckler, president of Convention of States, in a press release about the poll, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/americans-blame-rising-inflation-on-biden-poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Examiner<\/a>. \u201cAnd DC doesn\u2019t pay the price, we do,\u201d Meckler said.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
