When New York Islanders fans rallied together to sing the National Anthem before game six of their team\u2019s second round series, however, they <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/watch-raucous-new-york-islanders-fans-sing-the-national-anthem\"><span>showed<\/span><\/a><span> what many already know: many Americans are still unafraid to celebrate their shared love for their country.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"5.4306569343066\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Coliseum comes together for the anthem. \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Isles?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Isles<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7HCVMjM2To\">pic.twitter.com\/7HCVMjM2To<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NHL on NBC Sports (@NHLonNBCSports) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NHLonNBCSports\/status\/1402773091672068098?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 9, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The star of the moment \u2014 singer Nicole Raviv \u2014 was responsible for incorporating the crowd in the anthem, and couldn\u2019t be happier that a \u201cmortifying\u201d mishap from game four occurred so that the special moment before game six could go down in the long and storied history of the Nassau Coliseum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cGame four started with my microphone off,\u201d Raviv told The Daily Wire. \u201cThey couldn\u2019t hear me at first when I was singing but I continued to sing of course, because it\u2019s the National Anthem. You don\u2019t really stop that. So I kept singing and I knew someone would fix it eventually, but within 10, 15 seconds of the song, the entire Coliseum just started singing.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cKind of to make up for the fact that my sound wasn\u2019t there and to help me out and to bring it all together. And then I got a new microphone and basically continued from where I left off.\u00a0 Everyone started cheering once the sound came back on and we just finished the song together, as a strong collective crowd. It was a blessing in disguise.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The assistance from the game four crowd gave Raviv and her team an idea \u2014 hand the mic to the fans. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOnce we saw the results of that (game four) \u2014 and we won that night \u2014 it was just such great energy in the building,\u201d Raviv continued. \u201cThe atmosphere was really electric and everyone felt a part of it. Then the next game \u2014 which was game six \u2014\u00a0 my team and I thought about ways to incorporate them (the fans) again. And that\u2019s just what happened. So I sang in the beginning and then just gave them the microphone so they could really be heard this time and for it to be intentional.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOf course, we didn\u2019t know if they would sing again, but we were hoping they would. I just had to figure out a way to execute it.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The viral moment touched so many because of what it represents \u2014 a chance for Americans to put down their political swords and simply celebrate the creation of our country. It\u2019s a time for all to unify and \u2014 as a performer \u2014 a responsibility that Raviv is acutely aware of.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI think that in general \u2014 being put in leadership positions \u2014 I\u2019ve kind of just developed the responsibility and that I\u2019m in this position that I have to be able to bring people together. I\u2019ve sung anthems for lots of countries in lots of different events. I\u2019m multicultural as well. So, I\u2019ve sung for Canada and for Israel, and in French and in English. So I feel like I kind of tie in a lot of people together and America being the melting pot that it is \u2014 the reactions I\u2019m getting \u2014 is that politics was not involved in that moment. It was just like the Anthem belongs to everyone. Whatever you feel, however you decide to vote, whatever you choose to do, it doesn\u2019t really matter in that moment. And people have really been craving this feeling of unity and feeling of togetherness after everything that\u2019s happened in the past year or two.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cooped up for months, Islanders fans had an opportunity to express their love for the country \u2014 and didn\u2019t hold back, singing in unison.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWhen I\u2019m singing, it\u2019s a different group every time. Whether it\u2019s a police department or a fire department or veterans that are there holding the flag, the moment is very important for everyone. Lots of people are attached to it in different ways, whether they have family that served or they served.
