In comparison, 17.7% pointed to President Trump, 14.4% pointed to the current Congress, and 10.9% pointed to the previous Congress. Meanwhile, 17.9% of Americans stated that they \u201cdon\u2019t know\u201d who is most responsible for rising prices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Representing 39.3% and 35.6% of participants respectively, Democrats slightly outnumbered Republicans in the survey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Among Democratic respondents, 27.3% blamed President Trump for inflation; however, 21.5% blamed Biden. While only 6% of Republicans believe that Trump is responsible for inflation, 64.3% pointed to Biden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Likewise, independents overwhelmingly said that Biden is the driving force behind inflation. For those without a party affiliation, 35.5% hold Biden accountable for higher price levels; only 16.9% hold Trump accountable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Trafalgar Group\u2019s poll was published as the United States economy sees its highest inflation rates in over a decade. Year-over-year inflation for consumer goods <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-monthly-inflation-again-passes-economists-expectations-highest-annual-rate-in-more-than-12-years\"><span>climbed<\/span><\/a><span> to 5% in May. For producer goods, year-over-year inflation hit 6.6% \u2014 the largest <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/american-businesses-see-largest-producer-price-surge-since-tracking-began\"><span>increase<\/span><\/a><span> since the Department of Labor\u2019s records began.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Top officials within the Biden administration indicated that they are willing to tolerate higher inflation as a consequence of the President\u2019s ambitious spending agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/despite-skyrocketing-inflation-janet-yellen-will-keep-pushing-for-biden-spending-agenda\"><span>informed<\/span><\/a><span> staff upon her appointment, the administration is willing to use federal expenditures as a means to address purported societal ills: \u201cIndeed, the reason I went from academia to government is because I believe economic policy can be a potent tool to improve society. We can \u2014 and should \u2014 use it to address inequality, racism, and climate change.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Yellen \u2014 who previously served as Chair of the Federal Reserve \u2014\u00a0 remarked that any inflation from Biden\u2019s spending is likely to be transitory in nature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe\u2019ve been fighting inflation that\u2019s too low and interest rates that are too low now for a decade,\u201d Yellen told Bloomberg News, stating that \u201cwe want them to go back to\u201d a normal interest rate environment, \u201cand if this helps a little bit to alleviate things then that\u2019s not a bad thing \u2014 that\u2019s a good thing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Implicating both the Biden administration\u2019s fiscal policy and the Federal Reserve\u2019s monetary policy, economists from Deutsche Bank recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/sitting-on-a-time-bomb-deutsche-bank-sounds-alarm-warns-of-growing-inflation-in-u-s-economy\"><span>broke<\/span><\/a><span> with Wall Street consensus to express concern about rising inflation rates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt is no exaggeration to say that we are departing from neoliberalism and that the days of the new-liberal policies that begun in the Reagan era are clearly fading in the rearview mirror,\u201d wrote the analysts, adding that the \u201cmost immediate manifestation of the shift in macro policy is that the fear of inflation, and of rising levels of government debt, that shaped a generation of policymakers is receding.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
