He was resuscitated on the field and later hospitalized, where he is in stable condition and undergoing tests, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/denmark-den\/story\/4409091\/denmarks-christian-eriksen-thanks-fans-for-support-im-fine-under-the-circumstances\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESPN<\/a>. Denmark\u2019s team doctor said in a news conference Eriksen suffered a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/soccer\/denmark-den\/story\/4407267\/denmarks-christian-eriksen-gone-before-cardiac-resuscitation-team-doctor\">cardiac arrest<\/a> on the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>Viral social media posts have tried to link his collapse to a COVID-19 vaccine. One screen grab of a tweet from Twitter user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lumidek\">@lumidek<\/a> reads, \u201cChristian Eriksen, the Danish player who suddenly collapsed on the pitch, plays for Inter Milan. The chief medic and cardiologist of that Italian team confirmed on an Italian radio station that Eriksen has received the Pfizer vaccine on May 31st.\u201d A reply to the tweet in the screen grab attempts to cite the Italian radio station Radio Sportiva as the source.<\/p>\n<p>Pfizer is one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biopharmadive.com\/news\/coronavirus-vaccine-pipeline-types\/579122\/\">several pharmaceutical companies<\/a>\u00a0that has successfully developed a COVID-19 vaccine. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/01\/28\/fact-check-hank-aaron-killed-covid-vaccine-natural-causes\/\">(RELATED: Viral Image Falsely Claims Hank Aaron Was \u2018Killed\u2019 By A COVID-19 Vaccine)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The screen grab\u2019s claim doesn\u2019t appear to hold up under scrutiny. Radio Sportiva on June 13 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RadioSportiva\/status\/1404073305158606853?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">denied<\/a> reporting that Eriksen recently received a COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.793296089385\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"it\">Le informazioni riportate nel tweet citato sono false. RS <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/annEH7akQb\">https:\/\/t.co\/annEH7akQb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Radio Sportiva (@RadioSportiva) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RadioSportiva\/status\/1404073305158606853?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 13, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe information reported in the tweet mentioned is false,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RadioSportiva\/status\/1404073305158606853?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reads<\/a> a translation of Radio Sportiva\u2019s tweet, in part. \u201cWe have never reported any opinion from the Inter medical staff regarding Christian Eriksen\u2019s condition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Giuseppe Marotta, the director of Inter Milan, the Italian professional soccer team on which Eriksen also plays, told Rai Sports that Eriksen \u201cdidn\u2019t have COVID and wasn\u2019t vaccinated\u201d for it, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/lifestyle\/sports\/eriksens-former-cardiologist-says-he-had-no-history-heart-concerns-2021-06-13\/\">Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dbu.dk\/presse\/pressekontakt\/\">Jakob H\u00f8yer<\/a>, a spokesperson for Denmark\u2019s men\u2019s national team, also refuted the claim that Eriksen had recently received a COVID-19 vaccination in an email to Check Your Fact.
