Meanwhile, many European nations continued their sluggish recoveries. The United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy \u2014 with year-over-year growth of -6.1%, -3.1%, and -0.8% \u2014 have yet to fully rebound from the global recession.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Likewise, output growth in developed G20 economies remains slow. With year-over-year growth of -2.8%, -1.7%, and -0.5% respectively, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia continue their sluggish recoveries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Overall, the global economy has expanded by 3.4% since the beginning of 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>China \u2014 with a GDP of $14.3 trillion and a growth rate of 61.% in 2019 \u2014 is one of the world\u2019s fastest-growing consumer economies. It is surpassed in size only by the United States, which maintained a GDP of $21.4 trillion and a growth rate of 2.2% in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The OECD data was released as lawmakers across the world increasingly begin to suspect that COVID-19 did not evolve naturally. For instance, two European scientists <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/european-scientists-scientists-in-wuhan-lab-created-sars-cov-2-has-no-credible-natural-ancestor\"><span>claimed<\/span><\/a><span> that COVID-19 was created in the Wuhan Institute of Virology and has \u201cno credible natural ancestor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe laws of physics mean that you cannot have four positively charged amino acids in a row,\u201d one of the researchers told The Daily Mail. \u201cThe only way you can get this is if you artificially manufacture it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Likewise, a growing number of American lawmakers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/house-republicans-claim-circumstantial-evidence-shows-covid-19-came-from-chinese-lab-demand-investigation\"><span>believe<\/span><\/a><span> that there exists \u201csignificant circumstantial evidence\u201d to suggest that COVID-19 emerged from the Wuhan lab.
