All effort is being taken to be as sensitive as possible.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Plot details are being kept secret, but \u201crumors include a 1960s space race theme,\u201d Deadline <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2021\/06\/indiana-jones-5-begin-filming-uk-next-week-harrison-ford-phoebe-waller-bridge-mads-mikkelsen-1234767764\/\">reported<\/a>. \u201c[L]ocal reports in the UK also point to a shoot at Bamburgh castle.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p>The 78-year-old Ford last dusted off his fedora for the 2008 installment\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull<\/em>, in which the iconic archaeologist became entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind mysterious artefacts known as the Crystal Skulls. Despite mixed reviews, the film took close to $800 million globally.<\/p>\n<p>The original <em>Raiders of the Lost Ark<\/em> premiered 40 years ago this month in the U.S. and was followed by\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom\u00a0<\/em>(1984) and\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade\u00a0<\/em>(1989), which also starred Sean Connery as Indy\u2019s dad.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But Esquire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esquire.com\/entertainment\/movies\/a36684645\/indiana-jones-5-release-date-cast-plot-explained\/\">offered<\/a> some more insight into the movie, which won\u2019t come out until summer 2022. For instance, Steven Spielberg is handing over directing duties to James Margold, who directed \u201cLogan\u201d and Ford v Ferrari.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"23\">\n<p>That marks the first time since the franchise debuted in 1981 that someone other than Spielberg will be directing. However, he is still firmly attached to the project, in a producing role. In case that makes you a bit nervous, the\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones<\/em>\u00a0music buffs will be happy to hear that John Williams, the composer who has been behind the film series since day one, will return.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, no one has revealed the plot of the upcoming film, though photos from the set reveal that filming is taking place, at least in part, at a castle in England. Earlier this week, photogs also captured a replica SS motorbike on set, which looks pretty badass if we say so ourselves.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"body-text\">Digital Spy also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalspy.com\/movies\/a36696166\/indiana-jones-5-villain-nazis\/\">reported<\/a> on the shoot. \u201cUploaded online from production in Yorkshire, the new clip from YouTube account <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCDJnV0t7tyglc70LDmFjAAw\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCDJnV0t7tyglc70LDmFjAAw\">nymrfootage<\/a> \u2026 shows a train emblazoned with Nazi insignia such as the swastika and Reichsadler (Imperial Eagle), suggesting that Harrison Ford\u2019s character will face off once again with the fascists,\u201d said the site.<\/p>\n<p>Other actors include Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Ren\u00e9e Wilson, and Thomas Kretschmann.<\/p>\n<p>Den of Geek also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/movies\/indiana-jones-5-set-photos-harrison-ford-costume-leak-spoilers\/\">offered<\/a> a few tidbits. \u201cProduction is kicking off in the UK, at Bamburgh Castle, a fortress located in the northeast coast of England that dates back to the 11th century.
