This is double the new spending cost Republican West Virginia Shelley Moore Capito proposed during her negotiations with the president, which fell apart just before his first foreign trip.<\/p>\n<p>Biden expressed hope of a bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/09\/biden-administration-definition-infrastructure\/\">infrastructure<\/a> agreement, but accomplishing this proved to be difficult. Biden ended talks Tuesday after the Capito-led group was unable to \u201ccome up significantly on new investment\u201d for the plan.<\/p>\n<p>The group also wasn\u2019t \u201cwilling\u201d to \u201cbe specific about payoffs and consider reasonable solutions,\u201d an administration official previously <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/samstein\/status\/1402364891923718144?s=20\">told<\/a> Politico\u2019s Sam Stein.<\/p>\n<p>This newest group Biden is hoping to work with is comprised of five Democrats and five Republicans, according to Forbes.<\/p>\n<p>Sens. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Jon Tester of Montana, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire and Mark Warner of Virginia make up the Democratic side.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Sens. In contrast, Biden\u2019s proposal expanded far more <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/31\/joe-biden-infrastructure-plan-trump-tax-corporate-cuts\/\">broadly<\/a>, Forbes noted. The proposal is \u201cfully paid for\u201d but doesn\u2019t \u201cinclude tax increases,\u201d according to a statement from the senators.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has been pushing a corporate tax hike hard amid infrastructure talks. Recently, he <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/03\/joe-biden-corporate-tax-15-percent-infrastructure-republicans\/\">expressed<\/a> a willingness to a minimum corporate tax rate in an attempt to sway Republicans towards agreeing to a proposal. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/04\/joe-manchin-infrastructure-bill-bipartisan-support-gop-republican-joe-biden-kyrsten-sinema\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0Manchin Suggests He Won\u2019t Back Infrastructure Bill Without Bipartisan Support From Republicans)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The administration indicated it has no desire to pay for any infrastructure proposal by way of a gas tax or <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/08\/24\/biden-vows-tax-hike-if-elected\/\">tax raise<\/a> on Americans making less than $400,000 a year.
