Cross had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/judge-reinstates-va-teacher-suspended-for-refusing-to-affirm-trans-identity-for-kids-calls-school-response-vindictive\">reinstated<\/a> into his teaching position earlier that day by order of a judge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere is your regard for our freedom of speech?\u201d said Rachel Pisani, a mother of three children, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/virginia-loudoun-school-board-tanner-cross-backlash\">Fox News<\/a>. \u201cWhen I saw a teacher express an opinion and suspended for expressing his religious beliefs, I could no longer stay silent. When did it become acceptable to be tolerant only when someone expresses a view that we agree with?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen did it become appropriate to silence those that hold Christian, biblical views just because you don\u2019t?\u201d she continued. \u201cWhen did it become appropriate to allow the school board \u2013 I don\u2019t know who you think you are \u2013 but it is not appropriate, it is not allowable to silence, bully, or dismiss our views.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Wright, a teacher, left the school board copy of the First Amendment on the podium after he spoke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the members of Chardonnay Antifa, here is your assignment with a copy of the First Amendment attached,\u201d Wright said. \u201cI\u2019m going to leave this here, and I hope you learn something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cross was placed on leave after he vocally refused to follow a proposed policy that would force teachers and students to refer to others using their preferred pronouns. Cross, a teacher at Leesburg elementary, said at a May 25 Loudon County Public Schools board <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/554712579\">meeting<\/a>\u00a0that he would not refer to students with pronouns that conflict with their biological gender, as doing so would be \u201clying\u201d to the student and \u201csinning against our God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am speaking out of love for those who suffer with gender dysphoria,\u201d began Cross, a teacher at Leesburg Elementary School. \u201c\u201860 Minutes\u2019 this past Sunday interviewed over 30 young people who transitioned but they felt led astray because of lack of pushback or how easy it was to make physical changes to their bodies in just three months. They are now de-transitioning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not my intention to hurt anyone, but there are certain truths we must face when ready,\u201d he continued. \u201cI love all of my students but I will never lie to them regardless of the consequences. I\u2019m a teacher, but I serve God first, and I will not affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa because it\u2019s against my religion, it\u2019s lying to a child, it\u2019s abuse to a child, and it\u2019s sinning against our God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cross was speaking out against a <a href=\"https:\/\/loudounnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Draft-POLICY_-8040-Rights-of-Transgender-Students-5-6-21.pdf\">draft<\/a> of a proposed policy, which reads in part: \u201cLCPS staff shall allow gender-expansive or transgender students to use their chosen name and gender pronouns that reflect their gender identity without any substantiating evidence, regardless of the name and gender recorded in the student\u2019s permanent educational record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cross had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/teacher-suspended-for-refusing-to-affirm-childrens-trans-pronouns-is-fighting-back\">sued<\/a> the school district last week over his suspension.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/60-minutes-runs-explosive-segment-featuring-young-transgender-individuals-who-decided-to-reverse-course\">60 Minutes Runs Explosive Segment Featuring Young Transgender Individuals Who Decided To Reverse Course<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
