Marjorie Taylor Greene said, \u201cPeople are dying who have never died before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Verdict: False<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>There is no record of Greene making this statement. The statement has previously been attributed to other politicians, such as former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Greene has previously made several controversial statements, including spreading conspiracy theories, The Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/donald-trump-technology-las-vegas-mass-shooting-media-social-media-700f28747d856a9bad22a59674a9afe6\">reported<\/a>. Recently, Greene has faced backlash for comparing COVID-19 vaccination requirements and mask mandates to the treatment of Jewish people during the Holocaust, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/marjorie-taylor-greene-holocaust-comments-republicans-condemn\/\">CBS News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, some <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Stop_Trump20\/status\/1400891925482323971\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?story_fbid=1371509533217387&#038;id=100010750605884\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> users are claiming Greene made the comment: \u201cPeople are dying who have never died before.\u201d<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/03\/23\/fact-check-donald-trump-people-dying-never-died-before\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Donald Trump Say, \u2018People Are Dying That Have Never Died Before\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is, however, no record of Greene ever saying this quote. Check Your Fact searched her\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mtgreenee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">verified<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/repmtg?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social media<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RepMTGreene\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a>\u00a0for the alleged statement, but found no matches. Nor did the remark appear in ProPublica\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/politwoops\/user\/mtgreenee\">archive<\/a> of Greene\u2019s deleted tweets. A search of Greene\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/greene.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/greene.house.gov\/search?search_api_fulltext=people+are+dying+who+have+never+died+before\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">congressional website<\/a>\u00a0likewise showed no instances of the comment.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/search?q=%7B%22source%22%3A%22congrecord%22%2C%22search%22%3A%22%5C%22People%20are%20dying%20who%20have%20never%20died%20before%5C%22%22%7D&#038;searchResultViewType=expanded\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">congressional record<\/a> has no record of Greene making the statement attributed to her in the Facebook post, either. Had Greene said, \u201cPeople are dying who have never died before,\u201d media outlets likely would have reported on it, yet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=marjorie+taylor+greene+people+are+dying+who+have+never+died+before&#038;source=lnms&#038;tbm=nws&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=2ahUKEwj-krGS_YrxAhWHFFkFHbrFBS0Q_AUoAXoECAEQAw&#038;biw=1440&#038;bih=821\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">none<\/a> have.<\/p>\n<p>The quote has previously been <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/fave\/status\/894542720\">attributed<\/a> to other politicians such as former Alabama Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/George-C-Wallace\">George Wallace<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/03\/23\/fact-check-donald-trump-people-dying-never-died-before\/\">Trump<\/a>.
