Fully 82% of small business owners are concerned about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/05\/federal-reserve-eric-rosengren-inflation-government-spending-joe-biden\/\"><span>inflation<\/span><\/a><span>, and 83% have increased their operating costs in the past few months, the survey found.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The small business owners surveyed reported having trouble finding <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/07\/april-jobs-report-united-states-economy-joe-biden\/\"><span>qualified candidates<\/span><\/a> to fit roles in their company<span>. Sixty-two percent of people surveyed cited a limited labor supply, 58% say the generous unemployment benefits, and 46% say high labor costs as the main reasons why they can\u2019t find candidates for their company. \u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/07\/janet-yellen-treasury-department-joe-biden-inflation-interest-rates\/\"><b>(RELATED: Yellen Admits Inflation Is About To Surge But Says It Will Be \u2018Plus For Society\u2019s Point Of View\u2019)<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>Small business owners <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldmansachs.com\/citizenship\/10000-small-businesses\/US\/infographics\/small-businesses-hit-roadblocks-on-road-to-recovery\/\"><span>polled<\/span><\/a><span> showed the vast majority of them supported increasing their opportunities for federal, state, and local procurement processes. A sizable 88% supported Congress making it easier to receive federal contracts. Meanwhile, 93% wanted the Biden administration\u2019s proposed infrastructure package to include state and local government contracts for small businesses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\" readability=\"8.1640625\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.61328125\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Small business owners are optimistic, but they face three big post-pandemic concerns: inflation, hiring, and access to capital. While the Americans Jobs Plan is supported by 61%, only 43% of business owners think it will help them. 60% supported the American Families Plan, while 39% believe it will help their business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldmansachs.com\/citizenship\/10000-small-businesses\/US\/infographics\/small-businesses-hit-roadblocks-on-road-to-recovery\/\"><span>survey<\/span><\/a><span> of 857 Goldman 10,000 Small Businesses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldmansachs.com\/citizenship\/10000-small-businesses\/US\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">program<\/a> participants was conducted by Babson College and David Binder Research from June 1-2. The survey included small business owners from 46 U.S. states and two U.S. territories, 53% of whom were women. <\/span>Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is an investment to helps entrepreneurs get better access to education, capital, and business support services to create jobs and economic opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The survey found only 13% of respondents say the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/us-policy\/2021\/05\/11\/biden-taxes-democrats\/\">proposed<\/a> tax policy changes will positively impact their business. President Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/05\/01\/biden-taxes-target-big-companies-so-why-is-small-business-worried.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wants<\/a> to increase the cooperate tax rate from 21% to 28%.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Kuhlman, vice president of federal government relations at the National Federation of Independent Business, said the issue a lot of the smallest corporations have with the tax hike is that there\u2019s no consideration of smaller companies that have lower income.\u00a0 \u201cThe target here is the largest corporations, many listed as paying no corporate tax, but the problem with that is that two-thirds or even more than that of corporations are small businesses,\u201d Kuhlman told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/05\/01\/biden-taxes-target-big-companies-so-why-is-small-business-worried.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSmall businesses are the engine of the economy and need continued support from our policymakers to make a full recovery,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/au.finance.yahoo.com\/finance\/news\/goldman-sachs-survey-small-business-130000384.html\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> Jill Bommarito, founder &#038; CEO of Ethel\u2019s Baking Company and member of the 10,000 Small Businesses Voices National Leadership Council.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cToday\u2019s survey shows that Washington must act now to address hurdles on the road to recovery, including rising operating costs, access to capital, and labor shortages.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
