During the segment, Maher notably said higher education institutions \u201chave turned into giant luxury daycare centers with overpaid babysitters\u201d and stated that he\u2019s \u201cnot f***ing paying\u201d for so-called \u201cfree\u201d college.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Here\u2019s the question posed to Rowe from a fan named Tim Boyer:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"11\">\n<p class=\"kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\"><em>Mike \u2013 Bill Maher\u2019s current rant on higher ed is almost identical to everything you\u2019ve been saying for the last thirteen years through mikeroweWORKS. I mean, like, literally identical. How do you feel? Ripped off? Flattered? Or maybe, a bit disturbed that you and Bill Maher see eye to eye on more than a few issues here of late\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf I were to learn that Bill Maher used mikeroweWORKS as a resource for the contents of his most recent rant, I\u2019d be nothing but flattered,\u201d Rowe responded. \u201cI built mikeroweWORKS, in part anyway, to be a resource for people who wanted to reconsider the conventional wisdom that college is the best path for the most people. However, everything I believe to be true regarding that issue, I\u2019ve learned from researching the work of others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The \u201cDirty Jobs\u201d host said that he believes that \u201cmaking taxpayers pay the tuition of those who wish to attend a university\u201d is \u201cprofound unfairness,\u201d adding that such a point has been made by others better than he could make it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want people to radically rethink higher education,\u201d Rowe continued. \u201cToward that end, I\u2019ve always maintained that making a four-year degree \u2018less expensive\u2019 is a great symptom, but a lousy goal. The better goal is to make a four-year degree less necessary than it currently is. That\u2019s not an \u2018anti-education\u2019 position. It\u2019s a cry for rationality, proportionality, and common sense. The vast, overwhelming majority of jobs that require a diploma from a four-year school, should not. Some should, but most should not. When it comes to learning, we can\u2019t keep presenting the most expensive path \u2013 college \u2013 as \u2018the best path for the most people.\u2019 And we can\u2019t make college cheaper by asking everyone else to pay for it. That\u2019s part of what makes the whole proposition a \u2018racket.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u201cBill Maher seems to agree, so I\u2019m happy to share his video on this page,\u201d he wrote. \u201cDoes this mean I agree with everything in the video or everything he says? Of course not. But he\u2019s reaching an audience that I don\u2019t have, with a message that I firmly support. For that reason, I hope his message has a lasting impact, regardless of where it originated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Rowe noted that he\u2019s \u201chighlighted several of Bill\u2019s recent rants\u201d on his Facebook page because the liberal host is \u201cspeaking what I believe to be the truth to a large audience that probably doesn\u2019t want to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">\u201cThat makes him credible,\u201d he said. \u201cBut it\u2019s also true that the most persuasive people don\u2019t care who gets the credit \u2013 especially when it comes to changing hearts and minds. And that\u2019s what\u2019s really at stake here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Closing the post, Rowe added:\u00a0\u201cIn the attached video, Bill mentions a stat that I had never heard. \u2018In 1960,\u2019 he says, \u201815% of college students received an \u2018A.\u2019 Today, that number is 45%. That\u2019s not because college graduates are getting smarter\u2026\u2019 I\u2019ll definitely be quoting that one down the road!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daily Wire emeritus Ben Shapiro commented on the viral post with his own message, \u201cSpot on from Mike on this.
