BRENDAN SMIALOWSKI,JIM WATSON\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bender\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Frankly-Did-Win-This-Election\/dp\/153873480X\/ref=sr_1_1?crid=29OCLTHN74DBS&#038;dchild=1&#038;keywords=frankly+we+did+win+this+election&#038;qid=1623107870&#038;sprefix=frankly+%2Caps%2C257&#038;sr=8-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">book<\/a>, titled \u201c\u2018Frankly, We Did Win This Election\u2019: The Inside Story Of How Trump Lost,\u201d is scheduled for release on August 10, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2021\/06\/trumps-deranged-theory-might-have-helped-him-lose-2020?mbid=social_twitter&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_social-type=owned&#038;utm_brand=vf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vanity Fair<\/a> shared a preview Monday that surmised how Trump\u2019s responded to polling.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bender, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/04\/white-house-trump-hints-potential-2024-run-mark-zuckerberg-facebook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trump<\/a> worried as <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/08\/26\/warren-swipe-biden-not-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden<\/a> pulled ahead that he had attacked Democratic Massachusetts Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/24\/elizabeth-warren-trump-told-mob-go-to-the-capitol-invade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elizabeth Warren<\/a> too early.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president, meanwhile, had often complained that his early attack on [Elizabeth] Warren had damaged her presidential bid, which he regretted because he viewed her as an easier opponent than Biden,\u201d Bender wrote.<\/p>\n<p>But Trump also reportedly believed the Democratic Party was likely to strip the nomination away from Biden, based on advice he had gotten from Fox News host Sean Hannity and Dick Morris \u2014 who had previously served as an adviser in former President Bill Clinton\u2019s White House.<\/p>\n<p>According to the book, Morris told Trump that Biden was \u201ctoo old and too prone to gaffes to be the nominee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hannity\u2019s concern \u2014 that Biden\u2019s campaign could not survive prolonged attacks from Trump \u2014 fueled Trump\u2019s apparent belief that Biden would ultimately be replaced as the party\u2019s nominee. Potential replacements, Trump imagined, would include former First Lady Michelle Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>Trump told advisers, according to the book, that the Democratic Party would \u201crealize [Biden is] old, and they\u2019re going to give it to somebody else.
