A spokesperson for the management company that represents him confirmed Atkinson is \u201calive and well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Atkinson is an English actor known for playing characters such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0118689\/?ref_=nm_knf_i4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mr. Bean<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0274166\/?ref_=nm_knf_i1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Johnny English<\/a>. A rumor spreading on social media alleges that he passed away in late May.<\/p>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/khalix.delvuesto\/posts\/144548717706334\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">viral Facebook post<\/a> claims he died on May 29, saying, \u201cREST IN PEACE IDOL, THANKYOU (<em>sic<\/em>) FOR FUN YOU GAVE US Rowan Sebastian \u2018MR.BEAN\u2019 Atkinson Born: January 6 1955 Died: May 29 2021.\u201d It includes two images of Atkinson.<\/p>\n<p>There is no truth to this rumor of Atkinson\u2019s death. The official \u201cMr. Bean\u201d Facebook page has made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MrBean\">no announcement<\/a> about the actor\u2019s supposed death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can confirm that Rowan is alive and well,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbjmanagement.co.uk\/people\/millie-corser\">Millie Corser<\/a>, a spokesperson for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbjmanagement.co.uk\/artists\/rowan-atkinson\">management company<\/a> that represents Atkinson, in an email to Check Your Fact. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/10\/19\/fact-check-saved-by-bell-dustin-diamond-die-prison-riot\/\">(RELATED: Did \u2018Saved By The Bell\u2019 Actor Dustin Diamond Die In A Prison Riot?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Atkinson has been the target of a death hoax. False claims that he died spread on the internet in 2017 and 2018, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/movies\/rowan-atkinson-death-hoax-computer-virus\/\">People Magazine<\/a>.
