Ron DeSantis signed two bills Monday aimed at combating the influence of the Chinese Communist Party in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The first bill is intended to safeguard public institutions from \u201cundue foreign influence,\u201d DeSantis said at a press conference, noting that the bill will prohibit \u201cagreements between public entities and the Communist Party of China or Cuba or any of these malignant forces.\u201d The second bill criminalizes theft and trafficking trade secrets under Florida state law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyone who willfully, without authorization, steals or attempts to steal a trade secret and uses it for their own benefit will now face a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison,\u201d the governor warned. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/01\/desantis-biological-males-womens-sports-bill\/\">(RELATED: DeSantis Signs Bill Banning Biological Men From Competing In Women\u2019s Sports)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.390804597701\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Today, the State of Florida is taking a stand against communist dictators and bad state actors.
