The emails have raised questions about his handling of the pandemic and what type of research U.S. taxpayer dollars funded. Fauci has responded by going on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fauci-on-people-skeptical-of-his-claims-they-dont-understand-that-science-is-a-dynamic-process\">partisan<\/a> left-wing television shows to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fauci-responds-to-being-criticized-anti-science-all-nonsense-fabricated-inappropriate\">attack<\/a> his critics as being \u201canti-science.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes Fauci need to go?\u201d Breitbart News host Matt Boyle asked McCarthy during a radio interview on Saturday. \u201cDoes President Biden need to fire him? Does he need to resign?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, the number one thing, it has to be for the American public,\u201d McCarthy responded. \u201cDoes the American public trust Dr. Fauci now that you\u2019ve seen the emails? Now that you\u2019re seeing the flip-flop of positions? And just now that he\u2019s requesting from China to get the information?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve got to trust the individuals to look into this,\u201d McCarthy continued. \u201cHundreds of thousands of Americans have died. And if you\u2019ve taken every certain position in it, how are you able to come back with the trust of the nation to get to the bottom of it? We have to know what went on, and who knew what and when. I mean, everything we\u2019re finding there, how can the president \u2014 and I know the American people don\u2019t have trust in Dr. Fauci.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s find a person we can trust,\u201d McCarthy added. \u201c[Put] politics aside, we\u2019re talking about American lives here. We\u2019re talking about lives around the world. We\u2019re talking about an administration that shifted course, when they first came in, the Biden administration, and gave millions of dollars back to the World Health Organization, that lied to the world, that is controlled by China. We watch that they changed the direction when we were standing up to China to appease China now. This is the wrong direction, and I don\u2019t believe anybody in America can trust [inaudible] to get to the bottom of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it sounds like you think he needs to go,\u201d Boyle responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, because you do not have the trust in him,\u201d McCarthy answered.<\/p>\n<p>Fauci responded to criticisms of him during an interview on Friday evening, saying that they were \u201creally very much an attack on science.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s happening now is very much an anti-science approach,\u201d Fauci claimed. \u201cI mean, it is what it is, I\u2019m a public figure, I\u2019m going to take the arrows and the swings, but they\u2019re just, they\u2019re fabricated.
