Very, very\u00a0serious precedent for Israel,\u00a0generally\u2026 other than that,\u00a0it appears that this coalition, and it&#8217;s a very\u00a0eclectic one indeed, with far-right parties, far-left parties\u00a0and yes, an Islamic\u00a0fundamentalist party making a\u00a0coalition, one of the most\u00a0diverse parties we&#8217;ve ever\u00a0seen. And the first time we&#8217;re\u00a0going to have an Arab minister\u00a0in the Israeli government.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When asked about comments made recently by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who has been a vocal critic of Netanyahu\u2019s, Oren said that &#8220;I can say with with\u00a0a very high level of certainty\u00a0that the feelings that Bernie\u00a0Sanders has towards Benjamin Netanyahu are entirely\u00a0reciprocated.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added, &#8220;I\u00a0think that Netanyahu, should he\u00a0depart the political scene this\u00a0week, will leave behind an\u00a0extraordinary legacy. He\u00a0transformed Israel when he came\u00a0into office. Israel was sort of\u00a0a backwater, was a lower,\u00a0middle, class, largely\u00a0agricultural economy. Today, it\u00a0is a thriving, innovative\u00a0economy. One of the world&#8217;s\u00a0leaders in technology, a strong\u00a0country, some has been listed\u00a0as the eighth most powerful\u00a0country in the world. Much of\u00a0that has to do with the legacy\u00a0of Netanyahu.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Oren also appeared to take issue with Sanders referring to Netanyahu\u2019s government as right-wing, saying, &#8220;you know,\u00a0right-wing and Netanyahu is\u00a0famously adverse to getting\u00a0involved in military\u00a0confrontations. All these\u00a0military confrontations we&#8217;ve\u00a0had with Hamas have been\u00a0thrust upon us. We have not\u00a0initiated any of them under\u00a0Netanyahu, and he has made\u00a0Israel in the international\u00a0scene \u2026 he\u00a0himself [is] a household name, but\u00a0his relationships with world\u00a0leaders are unsurpassed.
