Kimberly Fiorello told \u201cFox &#038; Friends.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s just reprehensible and it\u2019s quite offensive to the great people of Connecticut and to the people I represent.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/11\/oklahoma-city-school-board-critical-race-theory-ban-kevin-stitt\/\"><b>(RELATED: Entire Public School Board Freaks Out From Critical Race Theory Ban In Oklahoma, Member Blames \u2018White Fragility\u2019)<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Critical race theory (CRT) holds that America is fundamentally racist, yet it teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue \u201cantiracism\u201d through the end of merit, objective truth and the adoption of race-based policies.<\/p>\n<p>The Connecticut state House voted to approve the measure Tuesday and the legislation has been forwarded to Democratic Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont for approval, <a href=\"https:\/\/ctmirror.org\/2021\/06\/01\/house-passes-bill-declaring-racism-a-public-health-crisis-in-connecticut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the CT Mirror.<\/p>\n<p>Fiorello called the bill \u201cextremely divisive. It\u2019s not what we want.\u201d The legislation \u201cis not a harmless bill with nice commissions and task forces \u2026 there\u2019s a thought police component,\u201d she added, and urged Connecticut residents to tell the governor not to sign the bill.<\/p>\n<p>The state representative said the bill will create advisory councils, commissions and tasks forces in an effort to \u201creduce racial disparity in our state by 70%.\u201d She asked why the bill\u2019s authors decided to stop at 70%.<\/p>\n<p>Fiorello claimed the legislation is completely at odds with the philosophy that founded America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have inalienable rights common to every human being in America: to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And that is the proper role of government \u2014 to protect individual rights. It is not the proper role to go out and make a declaration that the state is racist, and to go through and find the ways to eradicate racial disparity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Proponents of the bill say it is long overdue. \u201cThis is an important step to redress the health inequities that are impacting people of color in Connecticut. This is the start of systemic change and not symbolic change,\u201d Tekisha Dwan Everette, executive director of Health Equity Solution, told the CT Mirror. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/17\/florida-governor-ron-desantis-education-rejects-critical-race-theory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Gov.
